Well daytime photography has really been sucking with no decent light, colours or clouds... so i tried shooting at night and now i seem to be outside more in the dark than in the day

Thats the effect, but its more to do with wearing all black against white.. so you don't see any legs/body

This picture is done amazingly well, the sky is giving the perfect ominious look and all. ya got this one down PERFECTLY i'd say! i'd like to know if this is dawn or dusk, although it looks to be dawn. in a sense, it's like symbolizing that you are running away from the light of day. lol sorry, tell me, please, if my interpretations are wrong.
but over all the picture's super-cool

This is very well done Cain! I love how you're experimenting with the dark, and I've been having many of the same thoughts about heading out for night time photography for the same reasons, absolutely terrible days here with no light, colours, or clouds. Just a huge blanket over the sky here in Scotland making it very, very dull, with lots of rain, BUT it does seem to clear up, and get more interesting at night.
Love the effect you have captured with the shoe trail, and the aperture for the light is spot on! Excellent exposure all round, and those clouds just add even more to this brilliant shot.
