Description This is about 9 minutes long (if you allow it to play from start to finish without skipping any). It teaches you the basics to animating stickmen (these methods could also be applied to fullbody animation). I may not be a master of animating, but I understand it, I just need more practice.

This tutorial is rated Beginner. It will cover:
-Basics of Easing
-Anticipation For General Movements
-Basics of Force
-Realistic Movements
-Resizing Prevention

Enjoy, and request tutorials if your having trouble with something, or believe other people are! Thanks! :3

Actually, "breaking the bones" for your "realistic" movements can be used for a good cartoon like touch. I insist you go watch the way Goofy, from the Mickey Mouse cartoons, walks.
Slow it down, and then watch how he has is leg on backwards and his arm like a pin-wheel.

oh yes, it's fun.

Lol, I was going for "realistic" compared to life. But your correct it good be a good cartoon like touch, I might check that out sometime, lol.

To prevent the shrinking/shifting/growing issue, it's always a good idea to draw the hey drawings first and then add the in-betweens.

Oh you mean like pose by pose animating?

Pyrowman In reply to CaKeS1 [2011-03-05 13:49:03 +0000 UTC]

I meant 'key' instead of 'hey', silly me.
You first draw the 'key poses' and fill up the time in between. It's also called pose to pose, indeed.
