Pendulum always worked with his father in their farm in Smokey Mountains, near Tall Tale City. But one day, after a hard raining day, he got caught in a crumbling. His father managed to remove him from the pile of rubble he was under, almost dead. Candelabrum passing by, saw this poor old colt crying in front of the dislocated body of his dying son. The Candelabra proposed his services in order to save his life and deathWatch accepted it.

Nobody knew how, but the King managed to create robotic prothesis and body for the young stallion: only his head and trunk were still organic by 80%. The candles in and on his body keep him alive.

Once he recovered, Pendulum begged Candelabrum to make him his apprentice, which the colt agreed to. Fascinated by clocks and horology he learned how to make clocks and to forge their pieces in Candelabrum's workshop. Once his apprenticeship done he opened his own clockmaker's shop in Tall Tale.

Despite his body, he's very popular among girls.
