Description
During its earlier years of production, Forello and St. Grode was widely known for producing effective, mass-production military revolvers. But when the demand for the new "automatic pistol" became prominent, FSG sought to meet the demand. The resulting firearm was simply designated as the "Automatic Pistol Model 1" or AP1. While its profile heavily resembled the German Luger, the action itself was actually more similar to the Mauser C96. It operated on a gas-powered blowback system and fired the 8x12 millimeter from an eight-round magazine. The original AP1 did not see much success, as it was seen merely as a spinoff of the Luger, which took most of the fame during that time period. It wasn't until later that it received attention, at which point it had been updated to the MP1A. The design was virtually identical, but had a simpler rear notch sight instead of the 1000-yard target sights.
The target sights were left on the AP1T Target model, which, despite its longer barrel, didn't come close to the range on its adjustable peep sight.
The later model MP1A was eventually adopted as a military sidearm, and was designated the MAPA2. It saw many years of service alongside other FSG sidearms such as the 1107 and 1125 revolvers, and was widely favored for its accuracy and round capacity.
As the norm with FSG's production weapons, they released an "Officer's" model that had a nickel finish and ivory grips on a more compact design with a six round magazine. The officer's model did not stay in production for very long, but FSG saw the potential of a compact-model AP1. They took a route similar to the one taken with the 1107 revolver and made a sub-compact "Liberator" model, which came with a removable suppressor. This model was even smaller than the Officer's model, with a five-round capacity and the barrel cut down to almost nothing.

Nice! The Liberator model has to be my favourite. Was it intended to be used in the same way as the RL Liberator? :b

No, this one loads with a six-round magazine, then the bolt is retracted to chamber a round like most automatics.
Glad you like it! If you (or anybody else for that matter) has any ideas or suggestions, please comment or message me.

Sorry, five round magazine. My mistake.
