Description
Hey there y'all, so I have another drawing for you guys, and again, this is also another practice where I am drawing straight from my reference image. I've learned quite a bit so far, and I keep finding new ideas and techniques to help figure out how to draw more accurately to my reference.Anyway, this time I wanted to do a drawing of a Tiger, I've never drawn one before and thought that it would be a lot of fun to do, and here's the result of my finished line work. I hope you guys like it, and I look forward to starting the painting process very soon and get that uploaded as quickly as I can, so until then, thanks everyone for viewing my work!
Here's my initial sketch: And here is the link to the photo that I have been using as my reference, and I also want to make it clear that I do not own the photo, so all the credit of the photo goes to the original photographer (I believe the photographers name is Ma Donna, I apolagize if I spelled that wrong) who took this amazing shot of this tiger! www.stugon.com/wp-content/uplo…

lol. it does! XD It was a bit difficult trying to draw them when the foot is at an angle, the pads almost look like their sticking out of the paw several inches. That's one of the things I learned I was going to have to draw a lot more to figure out how to make them look accurate.

Thank you very much, I'm glad to hear that you like how it turned out... to be honest, I've never drawn a Tiger before, and was a bit nervous to see how it'd turn out, but I'm glad to hear from you that you think I did a good job, I really appreciate it!

such a beautiful sketch that i couldn't resist favoriting it
for a first try you did so amazingly well that i hope you draw many more tigers and other big cats as well... and another thing i like about this is the hi resolution of the pic to get a real good look at all the little details :3

Haha, thank you very much, I'm very glad that you like it!! And I definitely plan on drawing more big cats, I was inspired by a guy named Aaron Blaise, who you can find on youtube, who use to work for Disney, and makes awesome tutorials and has amazing speed paints on big cats, that after watching for awhile I decided that I'd try my best to learn how to draw big cats, and so far it's been very fun, so I most definitely will keep on drawing/painting them! ^^
And the hi res is awesome for me to paint in all the little details, makes it easier when it's time to start painting, that way I can get the most details that I possibly can and that people can get a good look at them... otherwise it might be all scrunched up and look like a mess. XD

I am so glad i found this picture from you because it really got me to really like your art !
ah I never really heard of him before but i should go check him out now, glad you had a big inspiration for this picture..... I'm not much of an artist but i kind of want to be just so i can draw big cats most of the time :3
thats good because I prefer if an artist makes a hi res picture because the colors and all look a lot more visible if it were a small picture
call me weird but I couldn't resist taking a look at the big cutie's paw pads ^^

I can't seem to say thank you enough, but I am very thankful that you like my art, it means a lot!
You really should check him out, he worked on movies like The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and many others, so it's very interesting to watch him draw/paint in photoshop, and if you want to learn how to draw big cats, this guy has a website called creatureartteacher.com, and he has a video course over how to draw big cats, it's all done in photoshop, but I believe the same techniques can be applied traditionally with a pencil and paper as well. His videos are a bit expensive, like $50 for his how to draw big cats, but it covers several hours worth of content. I've barely seen his how to draw a Lions head (which you can watch on youtube for free) ^^
And I find it the same way, if I like someone's art and I download it, I like to view it at the highest possible resolution I can, I love taking in all the details that an artist has made, a lot of them are just awe inspiring.
And don't worry about man, I don't find that weird, shoot I have a cat and his little paws are extremely cute... though they don't nearly measure up to a big cats paws though, those things are massive! XD I'd like to pet them... but fear of the cat clawing me and possibly killing me, I'll just have to admire them by viewing them at a distance, or close up if there's a picture of course. XD

you're very welcome because i think you are just so nice to talk to !
ah good because i looked him up just now and i like what i see, he does such a great style that i wish i could learn but it could take years
good point you made there, because that's pretty much my reasoning for it....I like to save artwork to my computer if it's that good but sometimes it disappoints me when i find a really great picture that has a low resolution
what if i told you that my brother raised a tiger before ? she was so beautiful, her name was ruby and she liked me very much.... and of course i got the chance to see her amazingly huge paw pads up close which is why i have a wonder for them today ^^
the texture is really fascinating if you ever seen a good photo~

Heh, learning to draw can take some time that's for sure, but I've found that it's a very enjoyable experience, as long as your're not too hard on yourself, and always try to improve and learn from your mistakes. I've been doing art for about 3-4 years now, and I'm still learning a lot. ^^
I know what you mean, you'll find an image online, see the thumbnail and be like "Oh wow, that's awesome, I've got to take a closer look", download it, open it up, and it's still a very small image, and when you try to zoom in on the image it gets all fuzzy and pixelated. That's why whenever I gather reference images, I always check that the image has a fairly large resolution, because if I see a 200x X 300x, or something like that, I just skip it and find something larger.
I would say that sounds freaking awesome!! Man, that would be insane to be able to watch a tiger get raised, being able to get up close to it, pet it and see what it's like to be next to a real Tiger! I've watched a ton of videos on youtube of people who work at zoos that have big cats, or really any place where they care for big cats, and see how they interact with their environment, or in some places in Africa I know that they have a place where you can volunteer to help take care of big cats, and you can even play with some of the cubs, and in some cases get to pet the larger cats... at least the ones that are more tame than the others. XD I'd love to be able to pet one someday, look at their paws and see how big they are. That would be an awesome day... and all that time I'd be strongly resisting grabbing my sketch book to do a quick sketch of them. ^^

And also what if I told you that the beautiful tigress Ruby let me give her a bath and kiss her amazing pawpads after ?
Oh it was so wonderful... the texture of them made my lips tingle ^^
