Very cool concept but sadly the picture is terribly overexposed...

This was done in post processing. The original has a good exposure.
The idea was to make the concept and the setting the centre of attention and not myself (in this case, my face). You can see, I have not only increased the highlights, but also intensified the shadows... to get a very strong contrast through the whole picture.
But I'm glad you like the concept

This is pretty cool! i really like the way it looks the lights the shadows, the colors in the picture, everything is really well done, i look at it and it makes me think "retro" for some reason, great job!

Glad you like it.
I got the tones by darkening the shadows and lightening the highlights. And I increased the contrast.
I created "us" by taking seven pictures from the exact same spot, using the self-timer and than opening a picture, for example the one where I look out in the doorway, and than adding the other me's one by one. I used the cloning tool in Paint Shop Pro X. It is very simple to do this if you took the picture from the same spot and when the two (or more) characters don't overlap. Then it takes about 5 seconds to place a cloned person in a photo, just make sure you take a good reference point (so that the cloning tool knows where to begin the copying). But the catch here is that I made sure I was overlapping myself several times, to make it more (sur)real. Then you got to zoom in your picture in Paint Shop Pro (or Photoshop,... whatever) and clone on a more detailed level, as in around the edges of the character in front. For example, my feet on my retro table are in front of me standing at the shelve. The rest of the body was easy to place, but the feet took some more time.
Hope this helps a bit
