Description
A quick study of different kind of birds, mostly for Di Immortales. According to my story, the Gods have the ability to transform into one different animal form; the form that the mortals usually associate with them.From left to right, top row: Zeus as an Imperial Eagle, Athena as a Barn Owl, Hera as a Peacock, Ares as a Griffon Vulture. Bottom row: Hephaestus as a Demoiselle Crane, Apollo as a Hooded Crow, and Aphrodite as a Mute Swan.
The other gods transform into different animals. Poseidon is a horse, Hades is a black ram, Hestia is a calf, Hermes is a dog, Artemis is a stag, Dionysus is a panther, and Demeter is a leopard snake.
I colored them, but the coloring job looked crappy. P: So you just get the lineart.

That's really cool! I like the way you are incorporating those symbols into it. Ha, though, I have to admit, the first thing I thought when I read that Artemis is a stag is "Wait...she's a girl." It works, that is what she is associated with.

Yeah, I'll probably ditch the antlers and make her a doe instead of a stag. xD It's more appropriate. But I think I have to keep Hera as a peacock instead of a peahen, because that would be strange. O.o

I think you could make Hera a peahen if you wanted to... sure, they're not as showy as peacocks but I think they're actually quite pretty, and it would be more unusual than a peacock (I don't think I've ever seen a peahen in a comic). You will also avoid the sex mixup - I can almost guarantee that someone on this site will pick on that. Or if you don't want a peahen you could make her transform into a cow (I love cows, haha). That's just my opinion though 8D.

True, I was thinking of doing either a cow or a peacock, but a different goddess - Hestia - has only one animal, which is the calf. That might get a little confusing lol.
But I can see where you're coming from. Peahens are actually kind of pretty - not as flashy as the males, but that's not a bad thing at all... it would make them easier to draw and color. |D And you definitely don't see many of them around.

Ah ok, so peafowl it is then. That's a good point, I didn't think about the drawing side of it (I'm sure a peacock's tail would be troublesome if Hera made frequent appearances in the comic). And anyway, because she's a goddess (and one of the most beautiful ones at that) you could easily get away with making her a bit more colourful than the average peahen.
