I just came from watching Planet 51.

I had great interest in watching this movie for two reasons.
First of all, I though the trailer was very funny. I really thought the idea of the Human Alien was original and full of potential.

The other reason is because this movie represents the highest point of Spanish animation. Planet 51 was produced in Spain, at Ilion Animation Studios, in the city of Alcobendas (origin of Penelope Cruz ). This is the first movie in Spain's history that can compete in America and be a decent animated movie at the same time. And it also represents a future for people who have interest in the animation industry, but for the first time, Spanish animators don't have to get out their country.

The movie is quite good. They are not Pixar, the script is poor at some moments, but it is very funny, it has lovable characters, some of them memorable (like Rover) and very good animation, full of details (try to catch all the 50's references). A very good first movie for Ilion. And the next one will be better.

This is Skiff, Lem's (the main character) best friend. His relationship with Rover is cute and hilarious at the same time. I hope you like it!
