Ahhh look...a mermaid and Candystripe Angelfish. Which one is rarer and more expensive to house? We may never know, but it's a lovely piece! I love the blue tone of the image. It seriously looks like we're underwater, along with that awesome hair effect. So floaty and lovely! Thank you again for this lovely gift, I love it SO much! I can't wait to show Mum, and tell her all about my rare little friend there. Bravo!

Which one is indeed the rarer?
Good grief, it's 2am ... pretty soon I'll be needing to head for bed! *Looks for "snooze" smiley*
I suspect the choice of photo to use for this latest mermaid was a bit of a surprise too ... though I was looking for something a little pensive, and already, I can picture a caption for this ... "Don't look now little friend, but I've just spotted a shark ..."

You'd better head to bed then!
That's a good caption! Always have to be leery of sharks in the deep. And yes, I never would have pictured it being used for a mermaid, but you made it work like magic!
It looks great.

I had three failures before getting the fourth one right, by the way.
One of the reasons it took the best part of three hours ...

And now ... bed. Before I end up face down in the keyboard.

Close up of Werandra the Mermaid, popping her head above some coral heads, with a little (and very rare) companion.
Images used for this latest work:
[1] queenwerandra.deviantart.com/a… : main face and body of the mermaid
[2] queenwerandra.deviantart.com/a… : hairpiece editing to deal with the difficult highlights in [1]
[3] Own edited work file of a specimen of Paracentropyge boylei (an extremely rare coral reef fish)
[4] Assorted random bits of coral
Also used a nice set of hairpiece brushes that made the mermaid tresses possible.
Another little present for queenwerandra.deviantart.com/ ...
