Description
A little less than willingly we moved herFrom the porch to the stairwell.
We made her happy there.
Years went by
Happiness faded to contentment
Contentment to rutine
And we moved her from her stairwell to the garage
We made her forgotten there.
Forgotten, we did not worry about remembering
So our little girl,
Who grew on the porch,
Who agreed to comply,
Who stationed on the stairwell,
Who tried to agree,
Who faded away to a memory
Remembered that we had once known who she was
Until it was to late
Until we were all a little less than a collective.
