Description

Arlen has kept a quiet, solitary routine of training his magic, finding no reason to let up after the migration to Taika. If anything, the pack's quiet approval of such things leaves him with less fear of being spotted. He finds he can activate his power earlier and earlier in the day, as long as he remains under the cover of shadows, and has begun to carve out time at dusk for himself, a comfortable, meditative routine.

But magic is a fickle thing.

As if in rebuke, it shifts one night, apropos of nothing. He skids to a halt. The darkness itself sticks to his paws, winds up his limbs, and then flickers away. He stands, panting, watching as the shadows drain back down to the forest floor now that he has stilled, leaving no trace that anything was ever amiss.

Perhaps it was finally time to investigate this matter.

Fiiiinally Arlen's shadowboy powers are at stage 2. This is not a very good piece but like.. Idk I just wanted to get it out the door as quickly as possible instead of obsessing over it and making everything take a hundred times as long. That's life.
