Description
The Somtaaw realized they might need a destroyer class ship. Since getting the designs from Hiigara was out of the question they needed to design there own. Problem was if they introduce a capital class ship into there arsenal they might upset the other Kiiths and loose a lot of trade and mining rights . Since theres was a small and more importantly unarmed Kiith introducing a destroyer would negate that status.
So the designs for the ship were finished along with several possible weapon loadouts. and kept secret.
The decizion was made not to introduce the ship into service until it is absolutly needed .
The design it self was the continuation of there proven idea, modular construction . The engine configuration is the same only now each moduls contains 3 frigate class engines.
Several weapon packages were invisioned: the standard missle loadout , ion cannons , laser, plasma
