Description
Draco abieurus, the pine dragon. Covered in green feathers resembling pine needles, this dragon spends long periods of time in the same spot. It is found in particularly rich coniferous forests, however it is unknown of the dragons choose favourable spots or if they're somehow able to manipulate their surroundings. The cone-like structures are bundles of keratinous scales. Their purpose is unclear, but both self-defence and mate selection purposes have been proposed. If the dragon resides close to humans, it may allow hanging up decorations too, effectively becoming a living holiday tree.Aka we need to fell our large backyard pine trees as they have grown too large and too close to the house, but they've also been there all my life... so it's a bit sad.
So I channeled those feelings into a drawing. Also this month's spotlight copic (copic_europe @ insta) just so happens to be G29, aka Pine tree green so it's twice as perfect.
