Everybody knows that feelingLooking at somebody half dreaming
Thinking about what it would be like
If the two of you were alike
We don't want to face rejection
Fearing that we worsen our self reflection
When we talk to them all we can do is stutter
Sometimes we just need a little courage
Everybody has courage no matter what their age
So whenever you're feeling shy
Don't just stand there and sigh
Remember that just 20 seconds is enough
Even if it's all just bluff
Believe in yourself
Cause when it comes to love
You are the only person that could beat yourself

We're all equal, and even if we're shy, taking a risk might be well worthΒ it in the end.
Even if we fail, taking a risk is better than assuming nothing may come between the two of you.

I can't tell you how much I love this. For so long i've been that one person that goes on through the day, does what needs to be done and doesn't make contact with people I don't have to. I am struggling to become better, maybe not loud and outgoing but just have the ability to have confidence. u w u

I remember I used to be shy and not want to talk to people because I'd be afraid they'd think I was bothering them. But then I had an epiphany, realizing that while I was waiting for someone to talk to me, perhaps maybe someone was waiting for someone to talk to them!
And I realized, I needed to get over myself and think about the other people who were just as lonely and shy as I was XD

The guy I like is like my opposite lol. He's loud and outspoken, and I am quite shy.
But I am also shy when it comes to making new friends too...I try to be more outgoing but I'm just not. :c

Ah, shyness...
I was so shy at one point where I'd hide behind my mom whenever anyone came near us...or even...let's just say I was afraid of every little thing out there. Like...holiday decorations...giant mannequins and paper cutouts that were in windows...my own shadow at one point...
Yah...people thought I was the strangest child ever because I never really talked unless I was forced to. A few people thought I was actually very creepy because I wouldn't say a single word. o-o
Anyways...great poem. ^u^

I think, that we are not scared of rejection, we are scared of what happens because of rejection, we are scared to loose someone who could be a great friend or perhaps something more

I know, it's not always a crush you're too shy to speak too, a year ago I would nearly faint if I needed to talk to a stranger in general. Being shy sometimes influences our lives a little bit too much
