Bella is a piece that captures great emotion and uses the wonderfully creative technique of using tea. The eyes and tail are particularly well done. The tail has the perfect amount of highlights and shading to impart a nice silky, fluffy feeling. The eyes are very life-like, and grab the viewer's attention with their mesmerizing gaze. There are a few things that could be done to improve the piece. The fur on the viewer's left/the right side of Bella's face, seems to leak into the background and fade away into obscurity. A little more shading or highlighting at the edges there will help make that fur pop out. That is really the only glaring flaw. The left ear is less detailed than the right, and it might be worth putting an equal amount of detail into the ears as they are on the same plane. There is certainly nothing wrong with them now, but I feel that might improve the piece a bit. To conclude, the piece is both mesmerizing and soothing to look at and what a nice unique touch to know that it is made using tea!

You're welcome I'm glad you found it useful
Don't worry; having not seen the photo you were working from and not knowing that many of the tea paintings are for deceased pets, I just offered everything I could think of, so I'm glad that at least some of what I wrote was useful and it is encouraging to know that you are happy for my feedback

Thank you so much for such a lovely critique and useful feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to go through various aspects. I love the way you described it. It's so cool to hear how other people get a certain feeling from my work.

The fur on the left side was done on purpose actually. I try to meld the animals I paint into the background to create more of a ghostly, spiritual feeling. Most of the tea commissions I do are for deceased pets so that intangible, heavenly look is something I aim for. I suppose seeing the photo I was looking at would help, but the left ear is shown from the side, where the right is facing forward so you can see inside the ear, which is why they look different.

My intention is not to make trivial your critique because you have some incredibly valid and true points and I love getting feedback like yours, so thank you for the analysis. I will keep it in mind for the next one.

Somehow, you managed to make this piece look like a sketch, but every shades and detail in the wolf's fur is perfectly controlled and thought for. This is amazing

Thank you so much! Yes, tea tends to looks very loose and sketchy, but it's actually horribly temperamental and everything has to be well planned or it will get away from you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
