Description Okay, first and foremost, the overall scan sucks. I tried multiple times, but this is the best that I could do/my computer would cooperate with (I had to restart it three times while scanning/piecing this together... urgh). This was yet another sketchbook project for my Art class at school, got my second perfect on it. Our subject this time was to illustrate a piece of literature or something close to it, so I illustrated the Dreamcatcher myth, of how the great spider spirit Iktomi introduced Dreamcatchers to a Lakota elder. In this myth, the good dreams are caught by the web and the bad ones escape through the center; however, other Native American myths say that the web catches the bad dreams and lets the good ones through, and the bad ones disappear in the morning light.

Media: Watercolor, white acrylic (for Iktomi's eyes)

Dated: April 14th, 2003

I am always amazed when I see Native ideas done by artists who are non native. Our culture will survive of that I am sure. I like your effort.
