A study with Polychromos colored pencils. There are so many wonderful insects to draw, lots of unusual shapes and brilliant colors. This was one of my first drawings with oil-based pencils, which I now much prefer over the wax-based variety. You can build your color layers without worrying about "wax bloom," and damaging your image. A little bit more expensive but worth the extra cost.
