This one reminds me of lying on my back in the shallow part of the Ottawa River, some hot summer.
Or of the water crisis in Chicago during the heat wave of '95, when a number of blocks had no pressure sending water to their taps because of how many hydrants had been opened. The memory's not quite as nice, but the newspapers had beautiful pictures. Lots of children and people enjoying the water gushing into the air and the pavement.

Ooh man I heard about that. D: I have relatives that live there, which is why I visit - I was only five and don't remember much but I'm sure that wasn't great for them. Picture opportunities are great though, totally.

I was... um, nine and a half *laughs* but I read a book on it for a sociology class I was taking last semester. It's a pretty awful story, but it sheds a lot of light on Chicago's poor areas and what resources they need/needed. (Like, say, a government credit for the purpose of paying for air conditioning.)
Picture opportunities are all over the place, it's just not always that we're ready to capture them.
