Description
Outside an old forest in the cold north stands a lone runestone warning travelers of angering its guardian.I've been feeling like I've been stuck in the same style for a while now, so I decided to try something different.
When I was little my brother had a Swedish fantasy role-playing game called Drakar och Demoner (Dragons and Demons), and in that book there were many intriguing ink drawings. I used to look at them and be inspired by them, though I no longer have the book, I still remember some of them and decided that trying to drawing something in that old inked style would be a good way to break out of this rut I've been stuck in.
The runes are in the elder futhark, but I've added the small word separation dots that actually show up much later, just so it isn't such a pain in the rear to read.
The wolf-like silhouette in the distance is Lyrik, which belongs to StormLyriksArt , who I've been helping to construct a new reference sheet for. So she was kinda floating around in my thoughts as I drew this.
Any criticism or tutorials on the subject would be neat as I've never drawn anything in this style before, and any type of help would be greatly appreciated c:

Det tog en liten stund att få den att inte se helt herp-de-derp ut ^___^;

...I wish I had words to say how much this means to me. I would love to have this hanging on my wall.
Thank you...I really needed something to encourage me to keep going and believe...and this was it.
I love it.

I'm so glad you like it!!
We all need some random kindness in our lives from time to time
Oh, and if you're curious, the runes read:
Left snake
Här vaktar Lyrikguardia Fenrisdottir från Järnskogen.
Here guards Lyrikguardia Fenrisdaughter from the ironwood.
Right snake
Ve den som gör väktaren vred, hon varnar ej
Woe betide anyone who angers the guardian, she strikes without warning
I don't know if you're also from the ironwood, but it looked good on the rune snake

Indeed I am. You know me well.
Fenrisnir of the Ironwood is my Father, thus I too, am of the Wood. The silver witch of the Wood is my mother. The Ironwood is where the roots of Yggdrasil were grounded and began the forests of the Realms and the Wood is the birthplace of Wolves. It is the most sacred place, where my Den and Moonpools are; where the long timid fingers of vines and branches sweep silently in the light of the dual moons. I have finally found my peace, my place and indeed, I guard it with all I am.
In this life, I wear a medallion; the Star of the Ironwood, so this piece of yours, is extremely precious to me.

Looks pretty! I like this kind of simple style, it does looks pretty nice. Background is very well-made, and text written on serpents looks pretty ^^

Thank you!
Pff, backgrounds way easier to deal with when you don't have to detail them ^__^;
And that text has about four flippin spelling errors, and I ofc don't notice them until I upload the picture (and become too lazy to change them)...
