Description
Bingo and Cole Hein. They have such a cute story! This was extremely hard because for the most part I had to rely on images I could find on google. They are small and come from all different ages (2 years difference in the life of a child is a big deal for face shape and such) so I stuck with the oldest picture (the one his mother gave me) but it was quite blurry. Thankfully, Bingo was easier to deal with since I knew her breed and could find some nice photos of her.

I think you did pretty good considering the lack of quality photo refs you received. The only thing that really sticks out to me are the thickness of the eyebrows, and lack of eyelashes. How much are your portraits going for these days?

I totally forgot the eye lashes! And I didn't even notice! The eyebrows are something I always get stuck on in paintings, though, so that doesn't surprise me darn it!
This particular picture I offered to the family because I loved the story (Bingo is the service dog who was given a few weeks to live so Cole made her a 'lick it list' of things he wanted her to get to do before she died - and she was able to do them all - including get dog treats from around the world thanks to the help of facebook).
I try to keep my work affordable (because customers still have to pay to have them printed and framed) so for the moment they are $50 for the first pet and $20 for each extra in the picture. Honestly, people are a LOT more work for me and while I've been doing them for the price of a pet, I'd rather not do people as a general rule but I keep getting asked and I keep saying yes lol.
I totally forgot to get together wit you on texture tutorials! I haven't ahd time to work on my blog in a while but I think I'm going to get some soon and I'll get in touch with you about it. Gotta think up some good textures. You can think some up too if you like. I want to create a nice character design help site so I'm also going to find links to all sorts of awesome character creation tutorials on dA to link there, too, since it's not all about me Thanks for dropping in and commenting!

Aw, that sounds like such a sweet story, I'm glad you decided to share it with me!
Wow, that's actually a very reasonable price, especially considering the huge resolution of the images. I might send you some art examples for some pricing assistance sometime (if it's ok!). You should definitely charge more if it's taking you longer for people though, and yeah, I've been noticing the increase of owner and pet combination images from you recently! hehe
Oh yeah, sure thing! Well I'm actually on holiday for about another two months, so it's perfect timing! I'll try and think of a few things that I think might be helpful.

I'd be happy to help you price your art. If you don't have a facebook page for your work yet I highly recommend it. And I can help you market it (I just got to 600 likes on mine this week!) by sharing your link.
I've learned to paint huskies a lot faster than anyone would ever suspect but if I am asked to paint people or other breeds I'm not as familiar with, work takes longer and I make less so I try to stick close to huskies if I can Once the novel covers I did for Lissa are released by her publisher I'll be able to up my prices I think.
I'll get you the exact dimensions of the tutorials I am doign for the blog and provide you links to a few so you can match them if you can. And let me know if you want to trade for art or anything (I don't know if you'd have a use for my work or not - but worth asking since it's fun to trade with other artists).
