Description
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, there was an infamous R2-D2 toy which was part of Kenner's vintage Star Wars toy line from the 1978. It was most notable for its screen inaccurate dome, which is why I wanted to make something new out of it. Some of the new droids in Star Wars canon are derivative of concept art from Ralph McQuarrie (i.e, the RQ protocol droids are based on early concepts for C-3PO). My intention was to make it look less like a toy and more like an actual Star Wars droid.
