PERSONALITY
Absent-minded Larkpaw isn't the best at remembering things and certainly not the cat you would go to when asking her to hold onto something. After she sets something down or goes into a den to look for something, she forgets about it and is often spending the next while trying to remember what it is.
Awkward Ever since the incident with Rock, she has always been awkward around cats and would often stutter on her words, and would most often not know what to say, and if she does say something, it usually comes out making no sense at all.
Appreciative Larkpaw knows when she is outranked in something and would often praise the cat for their prowess, and would occassionally follow them around, asking for help sometimes. Larkpaw would also be very thankful when she has successfully caught a piece of prey or when somebody has reminded her of something.
Committed The LightClan apprentice simply does not know when to stop and would often continued to work at something until she has it right, and would often spend days trying to remember what she forgot when it isn't that important. She will travel through snow and storms when given a task until she is at her destination.
Hopeless Romantic She has always dreamed of a special cat who would be willing to sweep her off her paws, but she has learned to observe that special cat beforehand to figure out if they're already with someone. However, once she finds someone, she will fall hard and quick for them and would often do anything for them, always eager to please that one cat. She believes that love knows no bounds or gender, either. Larkpaw is simply looking for her cat given from the Stars, afterall.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Breed Bombay x Abyssinian x Mixed

Appearance

Unlike her brother, Larkpaw has a pale ginger pelt laced with darker and finer fur. Her fur is short-haired like his, as well, though.

Larkpaw has deep and warm yellow-brown eyes that have the look of intelligence and are relatively almond-shape

Despite being classified as a guard originally before joining the Clans, Larkpaw has attentive ears that can help her hear from a distance and aid her when she would be hunting or looking for intruders.

Unlike the average cat where one might fall on their face, Larkpaw has perfected keeping herself balanced on her ovalled paws.

Like Dawnpaw, Larkpaw is sleek in appearance and unusually thin - however, most of the Tribe cats are bred like that, and has been genetically passed to her.

She is quick and nimble, unlike the rest of the guards. However, this proves nothing when she attempts to hunt and is better suited for fighting.

BRIEF HISTORY
[Before Birth]
Light of First Star had been the to-be of Crevice with Deep Hole, both of them being resigned to the title of prey hunter. Star wasn't content with being a preyhunter but after moons of useless bickering with the Teller she was forced to remain in her title. Resigned to her fate, Star begrudgingly stayed as a preyhunter to-be. She trained very little and often would dream of being a kitmother. One day, Crevice, who had been fed up with her lazy attitude, approached her and said that she couldn't be a kitmother until she had obtained her true rank. Appalled, Star quickly got back to her training and soon enough, had been officially seen as a preyhunter. However, as Star began her search for a potential mate and future fore bearer of her kits, either all the ones she had been interested in already had a mate or simply wasn't interested. When she turned to Crevice, her mentor who always had good advice, he informed her that perhaps she shouldn't be so picky and offered to help her find someone. Through her endless search, he often helped her, and eventually she began to decide that perhaps he might be suitable as a mate. She watched him and how quick and patiently he was to help her and after a while, she confronted him with the idea. Appalled at first, Crevice demanded some time to think about it, and within time he accepted. Not long after, Star became pregnant and bore four kits.
[After Birth]
Lark that Soars on Wind had been born as the oldest of the three live born kits, her younger brothers being Grass that Bends Under Bug and Dawn of Rising Sun; the firstborn had been stillborn. If Star or Crevice had shown their worry over this, they didn't show it. Lark was always eager to become a to-be. When eight moons came, they were assigned their mentors. Bug was destined to be the healer's to-be, Dawn had been appointed as preyhunter like their parents, and to Lark's surprise, she was claimed to be a guard. After a while, she has suspicion that Crevice had been beating Dawn but Dawn had always denied it.
Lark had always held admiration for Shimmer of Water's Reflection (who had been a fully-fledged preyhunter when she had been born) and often would ask him for help. Then, after a few moons, she confessed an attraction to him. He gently told her that he already had a mate; Lark was devastated. A few days later, Water's brother, Moss that Clings to Rock would approach her and confess. Lark tried to tell him that she wasn't interested - she only knew him as Dawn's best friend. Not willing to be rejected, Moss insisted, and said that there would be no chance that Water would like Lark in return. Not dejected, Lark turned him down again. Furious, Moss attacked her and managed to get Lark pinned, from which he had assaulted her. It was by pure luck that Dawn had chanced upon then and shooed his best friend away from his sister and together they fled back to the Tribe. Lark immediately told Bug about what happened, and after a few moments, he told her to leave the Tribe and never look back. After hesitation, Lark agreed and told Dawn about her plans, to which he had asked to join. The next day, at dawn, they left.

(At least, that was what was told to her. She had actually turned to Moss's brother, Water, when Moss had proposed his attraction towards her. She gently turned him down and with a heartache, Moss turned and left. However, when she told Water about it, he instructed her to leave with him. She agreed wholeheartedly, seeing this as a chance for them to start the relationship that Lark had wanted. However, when they reached a closed off area, he told her that he scented approaching feral cats and told her to crouch. Without bothering to scent the air or even check, Lark crouched and was then sexually assaulted by Water. Water had seen Lark as a means to blow off some steam, as his current mate was reluctant to mate with him, and as Lark already harbored feelings for him, he didn't feel the need for her affirmation before raping her. The whole situation left her traumatized and immobilized until Moss, who had seen Lark and Water leave together, came onto the scene with Bug and pieced together what happened. By then, Water had vacated and only had a chance for the witnesses to confirm it was him before leaving back to their cave. Emotionally, physically, and mentally damaged, Lark was carried back to camp where Dawn, Star, and Crevice were told about what happened. They decided that it was best that they leave, and Dawn, who had been physically abused by their father into becoming a stronger preyhunter, had requested to leave with her. Star reluctantly agreed and explained the situation to their healer who agreed with their decision. Days later, Lark woke up and Water explained what 'happened', as to protect her sanity, as it would break her completely if she found out the one who loved so deeply had raped her. Lark was devastated before Bug advised for her to leave - mostly in fear of her memories during the incident were recovered. And so, Lark and Dawn left, despite her initial attempts to leave him behind. Moss watched them leave, knowing that this would be the last time that he saw the one he gave everything for - even if she didn't remember it..)

Along the way of their abandonment, they came across a city where twolegs roamed freely with their kittypets. They had chanced upon Callie, a pretty calico kittypet who wandered the streets freely. She let them live with her in her yard and told them stories of her life and how great it was to be a kittypet, as well as stories of the faraway Clans. Lark was instantly interested in her and became quick best friends with the she-cat and soon enough developed an affection for her, but did not confess it for her fear that Dawn had liked Callie - which Callie undoubtedly returned the affection for Dawn as well. However, before attractions could be admitted, Callie was run over by a car and died. Both Dawn and Lark were heartbroken but set out for the Clans that Callie had mentioned.
They had been starving and dehydrated when they found the Clans, but LightClan seemed to accept them wholeheartedly. Lark had rarely slept during the voyage, as her dreams were often plagued with memories that jumbled and turned inside her head, giving her a massive headache when she awoke. But every morning, the dreams would fade into unknowingness and she'd forget, once again, what Moss had given up for her and what her mind was so willing to forget. But as she rested within the Clan, her dreams receded and became thoughtless and without shape and eventually, she forgot about the queerness of the situation in her dreams. Dawn and Lark quickly learned of their ways and been appointed new names, despite their reluctance - they had since been known as Dawnpaw and Larkpaw. Larkpaw lingers on the thought of returning to the Tribe and reluctantly tells herself that Moss was still there - she did not intend to return. She only hoped that the Clan would accept her completely...

Shimmer of Water's Light
He's really nice to me; Dawn may have Rock as a friend, but I certainly have Water! He's so nice and comforting, he knows when to be silent when I'm feeling down and knows when to comfort me when I need it, or just when I need a good laugh! Even though he's a fellow guard and much older than me, I can't help but be thankful that he's my friend!
Hehe, I guess I'm following in my mother's paws! Well, except that we're not to-be/mentor. Aha, oh well. He's still great and I wouldn't be with anybody else. <3
We didn't really part on good terms; he had been mates with somebody else, and all he can feel is guilt when he looks at me, because of what his brother has done. Why does it have to be this way?
Moss that Clings to Rock
He was Water's younger brother. I didn't really see him around, except for when Rock was talking with my brother. But one day, he just hopped out of the blue, just after I was turned down by Water ... He told me that he had loved me and when I turned him down, he yelled at me that Water would never truly love me, and that I was the best shot I had. I - I don't know what happened, but then the next thing I knew, after I still turned him down, he - he ... I don't want to go into the details...
Light of First Star
She's really nice! I mean, she's more active than me and proud of me when she found out that I was going to be a caveguard! She must be sad that I left, though. I don't think I can ever tell her why though.
Crevice with Deep Hole
I think father likes me more than he does Dawn? I .. I don't know. But that's the feeling I get. Although he isn't here often, he really is helpful!
Grass that Bends Under Bug
I was so proud of him when he was named the next healer's to-be! My younger brother is going to be great at his rank, I'm sure. He was the one who suggested I leave ... I wouldn't have even thought of it ... He's the best brother ever! But I knew I couldn't bring him with me. I'm sorry, Bug. I hope to see you again. Eternal hunting to you, brother.
Dawn of Rising Sun (Dawnpaw)
He's my younger brother. Him and I weren't close, actually, now that I think about it, he wasn't close with Bug either. But that's okay; he found comfort in Rock and other to-be's and other cats, for which I'm glad.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who left the Tribe but ... Some part of me wishes that it was Bug that left with me. But that's okay! Dawn wasn't really happy with his rank, so I guess that's okay? He seemed to really hate Rock, too, for which I'm glad. He was hanging around with me more after ... the incident.
I didn't even know that the Clans existed! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one facing them, or joining one. I'd be so nervous if I had to join LightClan by myself. Actually, I'm nervous enough that I left the Tribe. But I'm glad that we're facing this together.
Callie
Um, she calls herself a kittypet? I don't really understand what she means by that, but okay! She seems nice though.
Oh, wow. I never met a calico before and never anyone so beautiful ... She really understood what I went through and even pointed me to the Clans! I'm just ... sorry that she had to get run over, before I could tell her how I felt about her. Just as well - I think she had a thing for Dawn.

ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE

Briarthorn | RiverClan | Warrior
"Now, follow me, it's this way." The sun was glittering high overhead, bearing down it's rays of sunshine everywhere, blinding the sleek apprentice for a moment as she curved around the corner, the warm stone of brick pressing into her shoulder as she blinked against the sun. She opened her maw and scented the air, before moving past piles of crates that looked really heavy. She took little notice of the kittypet's disappearance, instead wondering briefly how the slick path beneath her paws had gotten so warm, even on this autumn day. Briarpaw scented oncoming snow on the wind, the breeze feeling bitter and cold as it tore at her like an insistent warrior, tearing at her eyes and making her blink rapidly.

The tortoiseshell blinked for a moment, simply basking her dark pelt in the sun, warming herself in the last few greenleaf days before leaffall blew it's way in. The large she-cat stopped for a moment, yellow eyes blinking against the sunlight as she focused in on a shapeless form in the shadows beyond the alleyway. Why would the kittypet lead her here?

"Ruben?" she meowed, raising her voice and turning her face away from the brooding shape in the corner, unease prickling just beneath her pelt. She scented the air again and frowned, glancing around in search of the mottled black and white tom. "C'mon, Ruben, you promised to lead me out of here. Not lead me to a deadend!"

"I'd keep my voice down if I were you, princess," she heard the familiar rumble of the dappled tom and glanced around, surveying the scene before raising her gold-flecked eyes to notice him perched on a brick wall. "Toby doesn't really like strangers, not that he really likes cats that he knows, either. Actually, he doesn't like cats at all." His voice was deep and comforting, his voice soft and low like he was telling her a secret. Gold outlined his body as he stared down at the RiverClanner, scenting the familiar scent of the Clans and the reek of fish and the salty tang of water. The kittypet blinked slowly at her, just bottomless green eyes that were too watchful, too judgemental. Briarpaw did not cringe though, even though warning signals were ringing off in her head, and unease was rising in her throat like bile.

"Toby?"

"Ah, you haven't met Toby. Not surprising. He doesn't like to move very far from his home. He's here right now, but your Clan cats had a twoleg chain him up. Good work, I say. Oh no, Toby says. It's a win-win. Well, except in Toby's case, because it's a win-lose, and the win goes to me, and the lose goes to you, because now you're there and now I'm up here. Do you follow me, princess? You are mine, and I am his. Now, let's end this pretty little game and you scamper over there; Toby doesn't like to be kept waiting." He was staring down at her, his ribs poking through his long fur as the breeze rustled and he looked nothing short of a tangle of moss, his fur having long since matted into knots and his bones long since having been poked through. "Tick tock, missy. You're life's on the clock. No where to run, nowhere to hide, because Toby will be there - right inside. You better run, little princess, before he sees you, because then he'll be hungry and then tick, tock, he won't be inside you, you'll be inside him. Oh yes, that sounds right. He does like to gobble up little kitties for dinner, and right now, you're a little kitty. I'm not, because I'm up high, and you're way down low. Tick tock, princess."

The dark she-cat blinked at him for a few moments, not completely comprehending Ruben's strange speech and dull tone, as if he was bored of his new toy. His aqua-shaded collar hung loosely around his neck and as he smiled at her, the RiverClanner almost swore that it was predatory. Briarpaw stepped back, her eyes narrowing as she glanced up at the unusual kittypet. "Stop it, Ruben. You're not being funny, and I want to go home. I didn't find what I was looking for, and so I gotta go. So please, just show me the way out, okay? Or maybe I'll just ask somebody else."

"Oh, no, you do not find Toby, Toby finds you. You have found him, little princess. He is there, and you are here, and I am here too. But then Toby will be here, and you will be gone, and I will be far from here, and that equals one more meal to Toby and one less worry to me." The tortoiseshell narrowed her eyes, about to bark out a retort, perhaps scold him for making such a horrible joke, because it wasn't funny, no it wasn't funny at all, and it was scaring her - not that she would admit that, because she was a Clan cat and Clan cats don't get scared. But then a low rumble sounded that eerily reminded the she-cat of thunder, and for a brief moment, she glanced up, half-expecting there to be dark clouds riding the sky, flashing lightning but there wasn't. "Oh, Toby is awake. You'd better run, little princess. That chain is weak and old and soon you'll be weak and Toby will be old when you both turn to bones." He settled himself on the ledge and glanced over towards the dark stretches of the alleyway, his gaze insistent and almost murderous as he stared into the dark recesses of the shadows. "Tick tock, princess. Your life is on the clock."

She had no idea what a clock was and did not intend to ask, and was about to holler that he was crazy and delusional when sleek paws made it's way out of the shadows. Briarpaw stared in dawning horror as a scrawny monstrosity stepped out, it's body frail looking with bones jutting out, making it's ribs prominent, but muscles were rippling in his paws and jaws, his eyes frantic and searching before he looked at the tortoiseshell and his pure instinctual gaze rooted the apprentice to the spot, terror screaming at her and logic telling her to flee. White foam drippled from his jaws before he stepped forward, a thick black collar had him leashed by a silver metallic chain to the brick wall, where a sole loop was. The hound had black and chestnut fur lining his body, thin and patchy as wounds laced across his skin like snow across ground in newleaf.

With a single lung, the chains rattled and she could distantly hear the clatter as the collar choked the beast back, and distantly she could hear Ruben's crazed laughter that echoed, and again, the beast lunged. This time, with a low and hollow snap, the chain tore and fell to the ground and he stood there for a moment, his ears cocked and his jaws dripping as he began to race towards her. It was then that the she-cat found her paws and attempted to scramble away, her paws slipping along the warm pavement and the crates causing her shoulder to throb as she crashed into them.

With quick and nimble paws, she made her way to the deserted road, being mindful of the crates but during the majority of the time crashing into them. Her breath came in soft pants because of her strict RiverClan lineage. The lack of WindClan speed proved prominent as she felt breath along her heels, and for a moment, she could feel the wind beneath her paws and freedom glistened before her eyes. Then it was snatched away with a quick snap to the leg and a loud pop sounded, pain shifting through her skin and causing her to holler as the hound tore at her lower back, and for a brief moment, she wondered what was tearing as skin and muscle alike sliced open and blood poured onto the pavement, scarlet staining her pelt so deep that it was the only color that could be seen. She screamed, or perhaps she didn't, because then she was coughing, and why did it taste like blood? Without a moment's hesitation, she felt the warm pavement dig into her face as she was dragged back down the alleyway, and for a brief moment, she saw all her hope disappear as the darkness crept around them, and then, there was nothing but the horrible tearing noise as he tore her apart.

Thank you. ewe

Aha, oh no, that doesn't sound good. It'd be awkward mayhem. ((Mostly because she's terrified of toms due to her history.))

I'm uncertain of how she'd react to that, actually. But she might accept a new fatherly figure in her life.

Thank you. I hope to be with this group for a long while. (:

Pffft, awkward mayhem is often the best kind. >3 ((Monarch will probably just start out waving to her and leaving her little gifts, then slowly be around her a little more so she gets use to his massive presence, cause he is HUGE. She'd get lost in his tail if she ever stumbled into it.))

We shall have to rp and see how it goes then~ Monarch has a big family, so she'll probably be picked up by some body.

Also, if the rper of Monarch's mate gets the app in, I'll have her be Larkpaw's mentor. She's the only female warrior that I know of atm.

I hope you will be too~!

Most definitely. ((Yeah, embarrass her with all these gifts. |D But I wouldn't be surprised if she disappeared into his tail, especially with him being so massive and her being so tiny.)) Hmm. I know the group is open, but are roleplays allowed yet? ewe Ah, well, yes, it does certainly look like he has a big family. No guarantees that'll happen though, chances are she'll panic and push them away.

Oh, you don't have to do that. :c She could always have a male mentor instead.

Yes, hopefully.
