Heh, this picture reminds me of a story about a rollerblade barbie toy that apparently set someone's underwear on fire with its spark gimmick rollerblades... You can read the story from here [link] ...How did you create that sparking effect anyway?

I couldn't imagine Mattel approving something like that though...
I took a separate photo from my library,it was of mobile fireworks (small pencil-size fireworks that you can hold with your hand like a wand),it was a really boring photo by the way heh,then I put it on top of the legs/fingers photo as a layer,then set it to "screen" as the blending mode.Exact same method to adding fake bokeh.
I'm very conscious about safety so I didn't actually add the sparks during the shoot

I happen to own a Transformer toy that has the same type of gimmick. It seems that those sparks are quite harmless should they come in contact with your skin (I allowed some of them to hit my fingers and didn't feel a thing)... but I can kinda understand that they could easily set something on fire if the said thing had been covered in hair spray or some other flammable stuff. I Guess that Mattel didn't expect anyone to fool around with a sparking toy right after using hairspray...

It's a SPARKING toy.Mattel should know better.It's good that they learned their lesson from it and discontinued the toy.
Kids are the most experimental types of people.They might just be noticing the sparks and setting their art glue on fire or something.
