I'm not gonna go longer then a week without posting one of these if I can help it. also in case your wondering how I choose what style to do next, I've been using an online randomizer and picking them by number, that way even I don't know whats coming next. so Imagine my horror when it landed on #15 so early into the challenge - [link]

Todays Victim: Ralph Bakshi - An animator whose very near and dear to my heart, he was one of the front runners who got their foot in the door to show that cartoons aren't just for kiddies. I adore all of his movies (except for wizards and lord of the rings which I have yet to see) and I have to thank google and youtube for helping poor kids see really fucking obscure movies.

About the picture: My own art style is already so influenced by Bakshi how the hell could I make this work? the answer- diligent research! so like the McCracken challenge this took awhile to do. I dove into my photo collection where I have a gallery of his art and I re-watched 2 of his movies to get the feel just right. everything he does is fascinating he puts folds everywhere, even in flesh and most people don't realize they belong there too. I personally think this is one of the few styles where Mack translated better in it then Candy did. Mack wishes he was that barrel chested and Candy looks like something you'd pick up on the corner. (then again most of the women in Bakshi films are found on corners) I am not as pleased with this as I could have been but it was still a blast to do and work with new techniques! I inked the entire thing with a 3.0 tipped micron pen, fucking Bakshi and his thin ass line art.

but it's another one of those things where what I think about it doesn't matter it's what YOU the people think if it translated well into his style or not that does
