Thanks! I was intending to make them very brightly coloured, but in the end they came out as spring pastels. And they were gone very quickly.

They were quite nice, that's all I can say about them. The trouble with these kind of cookies is that you have ot put egg in them to bind them for cutting and that gives a biscuit that's not really as nice or melt-in-the-mouth as shortbread. They're not really as nice as the kind of rough cookie/biscuit with a higher sugar content, but they do look pretty with icing on, and that's the point of these, to be photographed. So it doesn't really matter what they taste like.
