Heavily inspired by GTA IV and Lupin the Third.I <3 robbers, as you can see.
I'm still toying with my characters, Beatriz (red) and Liz (fake blonde). I like Liz's facial expression. She's nervous and scared, but slightly happy with her own accomplishment
I'm not happy about the perspective of the table and other stuff... wish I noticed the flaws sooner :/ The theme for this assignment was "happy". Not sure if I pulled that off though... I really didn't wanna do rainbows and sunshine with kids laughing. I tried to keep the colors, gestures, and expression as happy. Oh well, we'll see.

Well, this is a rather different take on such a simplistic theme! I really like how the scene suggests a really interesting story. I wonder how the girl got mixed up with such a colorful bunch. While I don't really condone thievery, I can't help but feel happy for these guys! Oddly, it reminds me of the pirates from Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky.
By the way, was this assignment supposed to be done digitally or was that just an option?

You'll be seeing a lot more of her involved with this group :] I'm glad that you can feel happy for them! Have you ever watched Lupin the Third? They give off that same vibe too because the characters are thieves, but they're good hearted thieves. I'm trying to do something like that with these characters as well, but with a darker story. I think I can kinda see what you're talking about. Maybe its the dark tone of the clothing, and the setting of the room? (btw, Lupin the Third is also an animation by Miyazaki)
It's for Komisar's figure/comp class. I like doing mine digitally because I can't pull off watercolors like this yet XD

GTA & Lupin ROCK but this picture...freaking astounding. I mean it's been amazing watching you grow from your sailor moon style into this amazing realistic/cartoonishy style (If that's what you can call it XD) I mean I've never really left comments before for you (I'MSHYOKAY?!) But I think you definitely did the right thing by going to college for art and not nails <3. The coloring, the style, the essence is exquisite and you did AMAZING. And you really did pull off the "happy", it's a darker happy but damn it it's still happy xD. Awesome job love awesome job.

And thanks for saying cartoonish instead of anime XD I don't know... for some reasons, it kinda bothers me when people label these sort of drawings I do as anime-style. Maybe it's because to me, my anime style is doing sparkly eyes with frills and wings.
