Description
This is Ollie (Bryning old devil moon), A blue merle border collie from our flyball club. He is the fastest canine member there.I just love his face markings. The rest of him is normal blue merle with the usual white markings but one side of his face is black and he looks great.
This photo isn't best quality because it is a fairly severe crop but who cares when it focuses on a face like that eh?
I'll have to try and get some zoomed in photos of his face where I don't have to crop.
Taken on Sunday 30th March at a flyball tournament.

Certainly is an unusual marking for a merle

must be a blue merl thing! My mum's blue merle/black and white bordercollie has the fastest time in our team (she can do a 4.6 sec run)! I say that she is a Blue Merle/Black and white BC because she is mainly black and white, but with a few flickers of merle on her side and her flank. On her face, she has a thin white blaze, and above her eye on one side is merle, and under it is like black, and on the other side below her eye is merle, adn above it is black... It's so cool. Her Show name (we baught her and she had a proper show name and all, even though we've never shown her) was Deja Blue (as in dejavu)...
ANYWAYS! He is such a gorgous dog, and i think it's an awesome photo... the intent look on his face is great!

Ah yes, sometimes the merles with a lot of black look more flashy than those with little black. More contrast.
They say that Merles are a bit Nutty. Maybe thats what it is. My blue merle, Sleet is definitely a nutcase. She's like a whippet too. When she's old enough to train, I'm sure she'll be quick.

Stunning shot! Those eyes have a real collie stare. Bryning dogs are gorgeous, someone from our flyball club has one although he isn't in training yet (concentrating on agility!).

Ollie's owners have gotten most of their dogs from Bryning. They don't come cheap though.

I'd love to draw him, do you have a photo where you can see his whole head w/out his ears being chopped off?
