Description
Octopuses are probably the most intelligent of all invertebrate animals. They have remarkable abilities such as protective mimicry, changing their surface structure and imitating the behaviour of other creatures. To me this is simply fascinating.I finally found time to be creative again
Creating the model itself took me only about 4 hours. The hardest task was figuring out a good material though. I think it turned out quite nice. At the end even the material preview brought my pc to its knees.
Hope you enjoy it.

keep up the good work

Beautiful!
Any animal with eight arms must be pretty intelligent, at least they need a bigger brain to control those tentacles.
And I can tell you they are intelligent, a lot

This is absolutely amazing. I'm totally in awe of 3D artists because I'm very much not one and the whole medium still feels a little bit like magic to me. When I see something like this which is so realistic it just makes my head explode (in the best possible way).

The material turned out incredible. Another top-notch scene How did you learn to do this? University or self-taught?

Thank you! I'm working in the game industry as 3D artist. And before I did that I taught most of it myself

My mom worked in a lab with octopi and they kept escaping from their tanks and squelching away on the table.
They had to put big glass covers on with books and stuff to weigh them down.

Thank you I used regular bones for rigging the arms.
Here is the NURBS wireframe: [link]
And this is the raw wireframe: [link]
