Description
My first fully cartoon sketch, Link from the Legend of Zelda: Wind waker, with a bit more of a 17th century pirate redesign (with a bit taken from Warhammer fantasy Witch hunters). A little gift to both who planted the idea in my head, and for introducing me to the Legend of Zelda series."Aye, tis a fine pig sticker I 'ave 'ere. Helmsman! Chart a course for Hyrule! I got me a world to save....again!"

Ah, well whilst I haven't actually played the games I have watched walkthroughs on YouTube (I don't own a Nintendo system, just a PS2 and a PC), but through those walkthroughs I have gained an appreciation for them. So the first Zelda game I 'watched' was Twilight Princess, then Skyward Sword, then a bit of Windwaker. After that I read up on some of the other games just for curiosities sake, and I've seen a fair few parodies of the game from the Nostalgia Critic's review of the animated series ("THE LEGEND OF ZELDA! Action, adventure, swords and flames and trying to figure out who left the toilet seat up the other night!"), Suburban Knights ("Why is it when i hit a chicken, a BAJILLION other chickens come flying at me!?")Dorkly ("And I suppose the 'Legend of Qunivere was about a guy who pulled a sword from some stupid rock". "I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding on how legends work".) ect. I find its a plot to simultaneously enjoy seriously and make fun of.
One thing I do wish the series could do though (which seems to be fixed in Breath of the Wild), is for the team to go all out on an idea, hence Pirate Link. Show a passing of time, improvement of technology, growth of a civilisation and thus give the player new tools to work with and new things/characters to interact with. I dunno, just a thought.

Glad you are enjoying it! My personal fave is Twilight Princess.
I am incredibly pumped for Breath of the Wild. And I agree, the progression of technology is great!
We do actually see a bit of ancient tech in Skyward Sword

Ah, Twilight Princess? My favorite character from that story has to be Midna, just for how much personality she has. Breath of the Wild does look very interesting, pity I don't have a Nintendo (but got to save that money for reenactment gear. 15th century arms and armour don't come cheap you know.
Although I do like many parts of LoZ, one thing I would really love to see more is a bigger deviation from the tried and tested formula. Don't get me wrong, what I've seen is fun as a game, but I think Nintendo are missing some big opportunities with the franchise by playing it safe.
Just for imaginations sake, what if some of the well known aspects of LoZ were parodied/explored, in a manner similar to modern disney films like Zootropolis, Frozen, Tangled and Wreck-it-Ralph. Make the audience think they're going through a typical Zelda game, then pull the rug out from under them with something they didn't expect.
I know its just fan speculation and ideas, but if this was written well, would you like to see this as part of an actual Legend of Zelda game?
