Description
The tears you cried, alone in the darkThe tears you cried, in an empty room
The tears you wept, as the world lay asleep, the tears that fell from your sky
The tears that slowly filled the ocean of your soul but could not quench the hurt
The tears you never cried, but only felt
The tears that never were, the tears no-one saw

Whoa! I like it! Probably a dumb question, but how do you get the colors to look so rough?

wasn't easy...
had to keep telling myself not to smooth it out ^^'
custom made brushes, messy bunches of lines turned brushes, then angle jitter, and scatter, possibly also size jitter, opacity&flow jitter etc.
messing with the count is also important...
...also, adding textures to brushes
the remembering to switch brushes, and use loads of different colours, but only slightly, and with opacity, so it shines on/through, rather than overpainting
any help?
i use photoshop, but the functions are in any good digiart-program, just under different names ^^'

Yeah that's what I figured. I use Photoshop too, I just get lost in all the menus sometimes. Thanks for the help, one of these days I'll get the time to try everything out.

Ah... I like this one a lot. Someone said "thought provoking", correct? I agree. The emotions speak volumes with the way she's bent over like that as if whatever is bothering her is like, "pulling her down". Also, I notice you put an aura around her, which strengthens the feeling.
Srry, I'm gonna rant too <_<;
Yeah, and I won't say thats its deep because it -is - but... its simply not the right word for it. Deep is kinda... used in a shallow way... and its redundant in the sense that people use it for anything 'thought provoking'. Hell, 'deep' can be used in a love story for all I know! I can see why you would be miffed by that :/ I guess people use it for lack of anything better to say.
..or..
They use it because they cannot describe what emotion they feel when they look at things like this picture for example. As you said before, you can attempt to use art to describe feelings, but sometimes it just doesn't come together. Like, what if you wanted the viewer to think that the girl's the one causing the sadness when we, the viewers, actually think its the world that makes her sad? Again, we'll never know until the artist reveals the motive, ya know?
Sorry again for the rant! ^^' What you guys said is pretty much true and just made me write more than just a critique lol.
Good Job with the picture!

thank you ^^ and you, too, feel free to rant at me anytime ^^
well said ^^ art is in the eye of the beholder ^^
whatever the artist has in mind, what is seen by the viewer is always reflected through the filter of their own experience and emotions
sometimes, what the artist sees and what the viewer behold, are as far apart from each other as the sky is from the sea, yet sometimes, when minds of a similar kind meet, it's like when the sky is reflected on the surface of the water ^^ though distorted, most of the image reflects through ^^
and this is what's truly beautiful about art
for every piece of art ever created, there is as many ways of seeing it as there are people to see ^^
...and here i am, carrying on myself... ^^'
but... the best response to a rant is another rant, no? ^^
thanks again for commenting ^^

Ok, I am going to rant in your comment area, be prepared.
I hate how everything that involves emotion, and invokes a sense of pondering in the person who reads it, is labled "deep"
Yes, it's though provoking, but come on, don't always call it deep, just because you have no clue how to handle your own bitter feelings.
The art is lovely as always, hon, keep it up. Please, pardon my rant. >.>

that's okay, feel free to rant at me anytime ^^
and i know what you mean, just testaments to how shallow the world has become, i guess...
sometimes i find that, talking to people in just an average conversation i'll say something, and they'll be all 'wow, that was deep' ...and more often than not, i just want to shake 'em and say 'no, it wasn't, it was obvious, you should have thought of it yourself!'
most people just don't think, and i don't know whether they simply choose not to, or whether most of them actually lack the capacity...
the thing is, thought that is truly 'deep', cannot be translated into a clear set of words, if attempted, by the time you've written it down, the words seem more shallow than the lack of the thought in the first place...
or so i feel, anyway ^^'
see, i ended up ranting on worse than you did ^^'

i know, it's really annoying, you can't edit comments, and you can't delete them...
the best you can do is 'hide', and even that you can only do to stuff that's on your page, regardless of who's it is...
i get frustrated with that too, frequently, so don't worry about it ^^ i knew what you meant, anyway ^^
