Description Owls are far more interesting than chickens! And I've always liked Ron's owl - so here he is.

This is an Austral Pygmy-Owl from Chile (kind of - some artistic license with the colouring) - don't know if that's what pig actually is - but I don't think Rowling actually tells us, so meh! And I thought it was cuter than the elf owl (but only just)... According to what I could find they're only about 20cm long - just big enough to carry letters!

Pen and ink wash on cartridge paper, photographed then tidied and coloured in Photoshop. Various reference photos used

*JK Rowlings owns the Harry Potter world. I just borrowed it.

Expecially if it looks like the one you drew.
I forgot to say it before, I think that the owl species you picked for Pigwidgeon is a very good choice. very appropriate.

You're right...probably not in the wild, but captive Owls do get fed baby chickens... Not exactly pretty to watch though
