Description No, it's not Hermione.

It's Alice Longbottom & Neville - I've always thought their story was horribly sad, and I've been meaning to draw something like this for AGES. *sigh* It's been sitting there half finished for a while & I finally managed to put the rest in....it probably needs a background, but I'm not going to do one! (nyah!)

I don't know about all of you - but I find it wierd to draw characters that aren't in the movie, or don't have big parts in the book, because, unless you put them in canon-situations, they could really be anybody!! Still, this is how I imagined Alice - I tried to give her a Nevillish kind of nose..

(and I always wondered why Neville called his toad Trevor - I don't think there was any reason in the book, but if there was, and I missed it - yell!)

Oh, and.....I need my smut muse back!!!! If you've seen it, spank it and send it home

I like this drawing, it's very sweet and this is a good moment to represent! 

I agree with you, Longbottom's family has an horrible history... I was very frustrated when I saw that in the 5th movie they haven't shown the scene between Neville and his parents at the hospital! I mean, it is (for me) a large part of Neville's bravery that we can discover in that part of the book...

I understand what you mean about minor characters and putting them on paper. Its wierd but it gives you freedom to draw them exactly how 'you' see them and not the same as everybody elses. I always saw Lilly Evans with brown hair and Ginny Weasley with curly hair, and Draco with long hair slicked back.

You're right, you know, I didn't really think about the freedom that drawing minor characters gives you....but it's true - people don't really have expectations for them, which I like!! It makes me think I should be doing more

Heh - and I always pictured Ginny with curly hair too - until the movies came out that is - then they kind of overrode my original image

Thanks hon!! Babies are gorgeous aren't they - though this is the first I've managed to draw that hasn't looked like an alien!!

Thank you sweetie! I thought the baby was cute - they're so wretchedly hard to draw that I was actually excited when this one turned out!!

As for how I do it - tch! I should be asking you!! Your drawings are gorgeous (which reminds me - I 've been so all-over-the-place I'm sure I missed a few of yours over the last few weeks....*runs off to have a look!*)

that's actually exactly how i pictured his mommy to look. and i love the little toad plushie. my older bro had a little frog plushie and me and sis would play with him. ^__^

we had a multi-coloured sandbag frog-thing....I used to love it - it was so squishy!! It's wierd - I've only ever seen cane-toads over here and they are REVOLTING (and poisonous)!!! So the thought of someone actually having a toad for a pet is very squicky....Still - each to their own!!

hahahaha what a WOMAN with a baby?! unnatural i shy away in terror at anything involving a baby after some of Tripp's recent efforts - apart from the last one which was quite stunning...

I cried for ages after that bit in the hospital when neville is visiting his parents... really cried

I know - it went through a few incarnations, with men instead, but I really wanted an Alice (women are bloody hard to draw!!)

Maybe my smut muse is on his way down to Melbourne...you can keep him for a bit if he turns up, but send him back when you're done...and make sure he doesn't try to carry any liquids onto the plane when you do....(I think I need more sleep!!)
