ADVENT CALENDAR 2011 Count down the number of days until each holiday #Canvas-Cuties style! You must be a member of the group to participate.

LOG Pun not intended, this is where we will keep track of the events occurring on each day in December! The current event is marked with a snowflake.
December 1st: A magical seed has begun to sprout.. will you help it grow by watering it? (comment describing you and/or your cuties watering the sprout! something special might just happen..)
EXPLANATION: This event was a comment raffle! Three lucky winners were chosen to receive a special seasonal item .
December 2nd: All this water certainly helped the sapling grow! It's still tiny, though, and seems confused on what it wants to become! Why not help it decide by showing it some pictures of pine trees you can find around town? (comment with a link to any one deviation - yours or someone else's - depicting a pine tree in any form!)
EXPLANATION: In this event, three winners who had posted images with the most "impact" were chosen to receive a special seasonal item .
December 3rd: The sapling is growing at a steady rate, and it seems to know what it wants to be now. But there seem to be some weeds popping up all around it! (comment with a creative solution to removing any and all weeds that might pop up without harming the sapling!)
EXPLANATION: In this event, three winners who had posted the most creative and/or descriptive solutions were chosen to receive a special seasonal item .
December 4th: The weeds are gone now, but the sapling has started to grow sideways for some reason! (comment with a creative solution to straighten the sapling without harming it!)

December 5th: Turns out the tree was being blown sideways by fierce winds! Thanks to everyone's help, it is growing straight once more, but it's lost a lot of the needles that were growing on it! (comment with a creative solution to either help the sapling grow more needles, stop it from losing any more, and/or attach the old ones to it again!)

December 6th: Though the clouds are beginning to gather, the wind has stopped blowing so fiercely and this tree's needles are safely growing back. The nights must be long and lonely, though - why not tell this little tree a little story to cheer it up? (comment with a story - from either your own experiences or imagination - to help keep the tree company!)
EXPLANATION: In this event, everyone who had shared one of their stories received a special seasonal item .
December 7th: The sapling is growing at a steady rate. However, dark clouds have blocked the sun from sight! This poor sapling needs some light to grow bigger. (comment with a creative solution to providing the sapling with some sort of light source!)

December 8th: The sapling now has enough light and has grown quite a bit! But for some odd reason, the needles on its branches have faded to a dim, transparent color. Perhaps a certain familiar pigment will suffice for bringing the colors back.. (comment with an amount of CSD you would like to give up to help bring color back into the sapling's needles!)

December 9th: Well, this certainly looks like a.. colorful tree. Perhaps it would look a bit better if some lights were strung on it! The only question is which lights.. (draw - from scratch - a string of lights however you want, then upload the image to deviantART and comment with a link to it!)

December 10th: Oh? Looks like there's been a gift placed under the tree a few weeks early.. perhaps it could be given to a worthy friend. (Comment with the username of one person on dA - besides yourself - you think is worthy of receiving this gift! NOTE: If they aren't a member of C-C and are chosen to receive the gift, they will be asked to join the group within 48 hours or the gift will go to someone else.)

December 11th: Thanks to everyone's help, the gift found a nice home. Today, it has started to snow! The tree seems a bit cold, so perhaps it needs a blanket or two. (draw - from scratch - a blanket however you want, then upload the image to deviantART and comment with a link to it!)

December 12th: The tree is nice and warm, now covered in blankets! It also looks as if it has matured enough to be decorated, though perhaps we should wait a bit longer before adding ornaments.. how about adding some tinsel, paper chains, popcorn strings, or something else light you can think of? (draw - from scratch - a tree decoration excluding ornaments/strings of lights however you want, then upload the image to deviantART and comment with a link to it!)

December 15th: Look, there are some footprints in the snow! Perhaps you can investigate to see if someone has dropped anything..? December 16th: A little Dinko seems to have found the tree while sniffing around for food! From the way he's sniffing ~Elephantfreak 's cookie ornament, he seems pretty hungry for treats, so why not find him something yummy looking? (comment with a link to any one deviation - yours or someone else's - depicting a sweet treat in any form!)

December 17th: Oh, look! There's a pretty Harevil egg underneath the tree. It seems to be moving side to side in a sort of rhythm! Perhaps it likes music. (comment with the title of one of your favorite holiday songs for the egg to listen to; bonus points if you link to your favorite arrangement of it on YouTube!)

December 20th: Today marks one year since *Lunar-Wind came up with the concept of #Canvas-Cuties ! Felicity has come to visit the tree in celebration. December 22nd: Now that all those.. *ahem* trolls are gone, we can resume our advent calendar! Now that I think about it, the tree seems awfully plain without the trolls.. but I think I know what the problem is! Look, there isn't anything on top of the tree! Normally, we put a light-up star on top, but can you think of anything better? (draw - from scratch - a tree topper however you want, then upload the image to deviantART and comment with a link to it!)

December 23rd: The tree is looking a lot prettier with all the decorations we've added! And look, there's an egg underneath the tree! It seems a bit lonely.. perhaps you can entertain it with a story. (Comment with a story of one of your actual holiday experiences! It can be anything from heartwarming to silly, happy to sad, etc. just as long as it's something that happened to you and is related to the holiday season somehow!)

Oh? There appears to be an ornament laying on the ground! You hadn't noticed it before, and it seems to be brand new. This is sort of odd, considering that it would have shattered if it had fallen off the tree. Upon further inspection, it seems to have a slight texture to it, and there are some paints right next to it! You could probably paint a design onto the surface. Becky walked up to the tree, staring up at it's branches. "You've growned taller in the last few days." She said with a smile. A breeze of chilly wind whisped by, and Becky shivered. "It must be cold out here for you, not being able to snuggle by a warm fireplace with some hot coco..." Becky gentlely slid her blue bookbag off her back, taking out a once pretty aqua green blanket, with many light purple designs on it. ([link] ). It now had many diffrent colored patches, and many threads were sticking out from the blankets weaving. She stared down at the blanket, forcing back a tear before staring up at the tree again. "My mother gave me this blanket when I was 3, for my birthday... It's really special to me." She glanced down at the old blanket again. "But you need it more, you must be very cold." She carefully wrapped the aqua green blanket around the tree. Giving a small smile before picking up her blue bookbag and heading back to her house.

Starburst trotted over to the tree, wrapped in her favorite starry night blanket. The tree was looking a bit cold, she thought. She took off her blanket [link] and wrapped it around the tree, smiling happily, but hurrying home since she was chilly.

As you walk by to recommend a friend, the gift blows over in the wind and falls on its side. The top comes off, and a small white, green, and red ribbon tumbles out. It is tied in a bow, and there is some mistletoe glued to it with dried sap. Perhaps all of this could be thanks to a loving friend!
