No one ever suspected just how ruthless Dodi could be!

Dodi was a kind and sweet girl, she would stop and help an old lady get across
main street, if needed or help rescue a cat out of a tree. I remember when she
met David for the first time; it was like a whole new world opened for her! He gave
her flowers, dinners and candy but, David was only interested in one thing and I
knew it!

His reputation was not something that was broadcast too openly. He had come
to work for our company as a salesman and at first he appeared to be first rate
but I did a little research on him because...he was too good! Too smooth!

That's when I found out a few unsavory items which contradicted his shield of "goodness"
In other words, he was a "love 'em and leave 'em after you bleed 'em!" type. And Dodi's
parents had money; the clues were there to see!

I had known Dodi since high school and we had dated each other as well. But, I got
so busy with trying to become successful that I let the relationship slide and
kinda' lost her but, I still cared.

As time went on, I kept an eye on the two of them and one fall Saturday during the
annual festival, I found Dodi near a tall oak tree crying;

"Hey Dod! What's...wrong??"

She wiped her tears away quickly, hoping I wouldn't see them and looked up at me
with red eyes;

"That David seduced me and then l found out he had another girl on the side!" she sighed
trying hold back more tears.

I didn't want to hurt her anymore by telling her I knew, so I sat down with her for awhile.
We talked until she got feeling better but I could sense a terrible anger building up in
her heart.

"Hey! I got an idea! Why don't you work some of that anger off? I know of a safe way to
mask some of the pain." I offered.

At first she was hesitant but a little coaxing soon did the trick! And a couple of weeks later,
she was bashing a heavy bag around with David's name marked on it! Plus, she was
good at it! Her technique improved so much that she decided to enter a boxing tournament
and miraculously, she ended up winning it all!

"I know how to get back at him now!" she noted one night while we were at dinner
celebrating her new found prowess.

"I'll challenge that sonuvabitch to a fight, right in front of his new "babe" and watch how
he chickens out!" she noted with a twisted grin.

"Dod, that might be kind of dangerous. What if he's good at it?"

"Doesn't matter, I'll take that risk, just for one shot at his "pretty boy" face."
She sneered setting down her fork.

"C'mon pretty boy! What ya' got to lose!"

She yelled at David right in front of about thirty people in the department store that next day!
Of course, he bristled up like a red rooster and accepted the challenge, so as not to lose
face in front of his girlfriend.

Three weeks later on a Friday night, the two of them were standing across from each other
with some hard expressions on their faces.

"I'm gonna re-arrange that long nose of yours bitch! Lord knows it got in the way all the time,
when I wanted to kiss you!" David yelled out, which got under Dodi skin real quick!

"DING!"

Judging from his size advantage over her, I just knew she was going to get the worst of it and she
did in the first round! Each one of his lucky punches found a spot on her body but, she was very
determined to teach him a lesson so, I stayed and gave her some pointers in between rounds. In the
third and forth third rounds, David had her on the ropes just enjoying peppering her body with some
real vicious punches that made me cringe but, Dodi endured!

In round five, David's over confidence, led him to throw an air punch. Dodi ducked it and somehow
fired a "torpedo" right cross into his mid-section! And even though her face was a bloody mess, she
followed that with a left hook to his body and a solid right to the chin and he went down on his
knees!

When he got up, I hollered for her to hit him again with another hook and follow that
with a right! That's when she found his weakness and nailed him in his glass jaw! The sound of
leather smacking bone was unmistakable! And she didn't stop!

She started working his face like a speed bag, slamming it from side to side, while blood sloshed
all over the ring and a few spectators, as well!

The ruthlessness of her attack surprised me because it was a side of her, I'd never seen before and
it sorta' scared me a little. I finally had to rush into the ring to grab and stop her from hammering
him into a concussion!

He sunk to the canvas like a fishing line weight and needed immediate attention. I finally got her to
calm down and when she realized that he was out, she looked at me and began to cry at the savagery
she didn't know she had buried inside her. It bothered her for a few minutes as she watched David
lying on his back being attended to.

But I talked to her and when they finally got David back on his feet, she felt better about things. The
one result of what happened became the fact that I think it showed most folks that she could change
from the sweet little girl into a tough woman when she needed to.

I was proud of her, not because of the beating she administered, but of her maturity. And a week later,
the sweet little Dodi surfaced again; she was helping an older lady across main street with a big smile.
