Actually, I do mind. The original idea belonged to a friend, and I made this piece for her. It's not open for public use.

It's a really kool concept! I almost hate to admit it, but the first thing I thought of was some kind of squid or octopus. I think the top of the tree is great - very realistic. However, when you get to the roots the realism kinda goes out the window, so I think that's what may have spawned the octopus thought. Good thing there are only seven!

Really like the concept - would wear the shirt if you rework the roots a little.

Oh one more thing, if you don't mind my two-bits of brainstorming. The Bible states that God is love, so it would be kool to symbolize, that we aren't rooted in our individual love (which is weak indeed!) but in His love... which I believe Ephesians 3 is talking about (e.g. verse 19).

Anyway, sorry to carry on so. When I see a good idea, I get excited...

LOL It's perfectly fine. I'm glad that it got you excited.

To be honest, I got the idea for this from a tshirt with a similar design. I wouldn't make this into a tshirt because it's already been done, but it's an idea and a verse that I truely love, so I made my own little play-off design. Maybe it's cheating, but I loved the concept.

As for the octopus thing, I can understand where that came from... I was playing with a new technique in Photoshop. I'm still learning how to do a lot of things within the program, and that was a good opportunity to try and master something.

I like playing with verses to make designs, so maybe I'll look up a few more and come up with some new stuff.

Because he hates it there and loves it here... Plus I don't do cold and wet. England is a GREAT place to visit (and an excellent place to have a permanent vacation spot), but I can't take the cold and wet all year. I'm a Florida girl through and through.

Perks are awesome! Job is good... When it's slow, it's DEAD. When it's busy, it's CRAZY.

But I'm most excited about seeing Twilight. There's a private screening for all employees on Wednesday, and the show doesn't open till Friday, so I'll see it 2 days before anyone else.

janette4211 In reply to Caoimhe-Aisling [2008-11-15 00:42:11 +0000 UTC]

Nothing better than those highs and lows, eh? (lol) Would you prefer it to be slow or busy?

Seriously!? Good for you! Will you tell me how it is? I've read all the books, and they're pretty good. I'm not particularly obsessed or anything, I grow weary of romance after a while, but they're still pretty good!

Have fun!

Caoimhe-Aisling In reply to janette4211 [2008-11-15 05:43:40 +0000 UTC]

I haven't really experienced it really busy yet, so we'll see. When it's slow, there's not much to do. You just ahve to look busy and hope you don't find anything nasty waiting for you when you're cleaning out an auditorium. I will never leave trash in a theatre again.

Aye, I get to see Twilight early, and aye, I'll be sure to let you know how it is. I have a very good feeling about it. From the extended trailers I've seen, they're using lines straight from the book, so it looks like they won't stray too far. I hate it when they change things in the films.

I LOVED the Twilight books... I finished the whole series in a week. Well, total reading time was about 36 hours, so I guess I only spent about a day and a half reading them, but hey... whatever. They were fantastic.

janette4211 In reply to Caoimhe-Aisling [2008-11-18 03:29:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh dear... I can imagine.... I'll help you out, I'll make a pledge as well to not to purposely leave trash in a thatre again.

Yes, it's coming out very soon! I'm not so sure that I'll be able to get to that movie this weekend at all! Like all of the showings are already sold out because of pre-order tickets, it's maddening! Yes... I don't think that they'll stray too far, it doens't seem that way anyway. I wish them luck!

Haha, I had to listen to the first one on audiocassette, so it took me a while to finish it, but the other three... wow... I mean, I'm not a huge romance fan or anything, but those books have some addicting quality to them. You just have to finish them once you get them.
