Great colorful VS, thank you.
Any chance you will alter secondary highlight color to assist the main theme color (like blue tabs and checkboxes for Umi theme etc.)?
Bugreport: no windows flashing in the taskbar.
That's a real issue since you can't use IM services (which would flash window caption to inform about new incoming message). Example of these is Skype IM (chat) messages (not calls).
Can you fix this please?

I don't plan to work further on this visual style in a near future, sorry.
About the lack of flashing notifications in the taskbar I'm aware about this issue but don't know the origin of this problem (I can't reproduce this problem because I don't use IM clients on Windows).
If I find a solution to it I will try to fix it and contact you. Thank you again for reporting this bug!

Yep! I really love this game (also huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series!), especially that the modding community around this game still continue to make this game more and more awesome even after 10 years since its release.
I hope you will enjoy Morrowind!
I can't stop playing to it since many years now, really addicting! Ahaha!

TheRussianBurrito In reply to Cappippuni [2012-08-14 17:15:16 +0000 UTC]
Haha I would play Morrowind if I had a bit more free time on my hands, what with sports and such. If I had more time, I'd spend it all playing Morrowind, NO REGRETS!!!
I really can't blame you for still playing it. It's probably the best ES game (in my opinion of course).

Agree too, in my opinion this is the best Elder Scrolls (especially due to the rich lore/background developed in this game), also I really liked the good old Daggerfall.

Aww, I don't have Daggerfall... Again, if I had the time, I'd definitely get it and play the living crap out of it.

Great work!
I rarely see a decent colourful visual style, and this seems like the best one I've seen so far!
Also clever blending of the window borders with the window content colour. It gives a similar effect to borderless windows in Mac/Linux themes.
Will definitely try it out after I get some sleep haha

Cappippuni In reply to cling17 [2012-08-11 14:45:23 +0000 UTC]
Thank you a lot! ^^
Indeed I was inspired to the borderless style of the windows as seen in OS X, blending the frames borders and the content while still keeping a margin of few pixels at each sides (some softwares -especially Firefox- have visual bugs if the side borders are too fine or inexistent in some visual styles).

The easiest way to use the explorerframe.dll files is to use theme resource changer (TRC). It does all the work for you after you convert the files from bmp to png (extract using resource extractor; convert using greenfish). The files you need are numbered 280, 281, 288, 291, 294, 577, 578, 579, 581, 34560, 34561, 34562, 34569, 34570, 34571, 34575, 34576, 34577, 34581, 34582, and 34583. You can do the same for the explorer.exe files and the shell32.dll file. those numbers are explorer.exe - 6801, 6805, and 6809; shell32.dll - 632, 633, 634, 635. Then create 3 folders - explorer.exe, explorerframe.dll, and shell32.dll. Place the pngs in those folders and TRC does the rest. No hassles changing system files. Now, Cappippuni, where are your start orb images (explorer.exe)? I guess I could just use some of my own choosing.

Thanks a lot for your tip, very helpful and interesting (never heard about Theme Resource Changer before! Thank you.)!
About the optional Start orbs, I had temporary removed them from the archive due to a mistake with the alpha transparency in the bitmaps files.
I just updated the archive with the optional Start buttons included again and now fixed.

Cappippuni In reply to estremodesign [2012-08-11 03:54:07 +0000 UTC]
I don't have a 32-bit (x86) version of Windows and can't make a compatible explorer frame for it.
But I have included the original .png source files in the archive (in the 'Source Files' folder inside 'Explorer Frame (advanced users only)') if you have a resources editor software (like Restorator 2007) and want to modify your ExplorerFrame.dll with the ones included.
Hope this will be helpful... : )

Hiya! ^_^ Do you have the following files (circled in red in this example) in your 'Themes' folder? And have you successfully patched your system files with the Universal Theme Patcher program?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Cappippuni In reply to Skitty-Love [2012-08-11 05:41:02 +0000 UTC]
For more details, are you using a 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) version of Windows (go to the Start menu, right-click on 'Computer', then you should see if you use a 32-bit or 64-bit system)?
And have you restarted your computer after having patched the system files with Universal Theme Patcher so the changes will be validated and allowing the use of visual styles?

Cappippuni In reply to leyfzalley [2012-08-11 03:22:36 +0000 UTC]
Unfortunately I made the 'Pastelia' theme a long time ago (originally made in late 2009, just few weeks after Windows 7 was available) and can't find the original source files used for this theme in my backups.
This was my first theme for Windows, and I made it at a time I began to learn how to use graphics tools softwares (that was good memories... ^^).
Also working on visual styles requires way too much time and I currently working on several others projects. Sorry. ^_^

I'm aware of this little visual bug appearing with the clock/calendar popup (the clock and calendar are surrounded in white instead of light gray as used by the windows in this theme) and the 'Run' dialog window, unfortunately this can't be fixed within a visual style, needing to modify a .dll system file. ^^
