Dude, this is pretty badass. Hands/claws reminds me of oldschool Greg Capullo. I also like the way the overall arc of his pose is complimented by the angle of the horizon line. I like the bits of armor, especially the gauntlet, and the face/helmet i feel could have made or broke this, and it works. Well rendered and crisper than some of your similar work, and nice contrast of color and atmosphere. Great work, best i've seen from you in a while in my opinion. I'd LOVE to see more stuff like this, yeah. I could offer some more rather banal criticism, but the piece is just enjoyable overall."MikecapprottiMikecapprotti!" -laterz

Wow, I appreciate your quicker speed paintier stuff a lot, but this piece is simultaneously painterly and polished in all the right places, great focus...Amazing! If I had to nitpick anything - and I feel like I'm telling Michelangelo how to paint a church here - I think the light source from the fire hand could bounce more intensely off his head, unless his head is supposed to be matte. God his costume is great...

Thanx Ed! I'm really glad I got a lot of painterly elements here. I've been so "tight" with my comic work lately I almost forgot hot to get "painterly". His head actually is supposed to be pretty Matte, but maybe I'll add a couple cleverly placed highlights to make it feel a little more solid.
