Well, how to put this...I commissioned ~M-Dison a couple years ago to draw Natsuki, ended up being something along the lines of a 50 to 60 dollar commission. Really, I'm saddened at all this, as he's a fairly good artist, but a terrible businessman. He kept me waiting for a year, which is okay I've waited that long for others, but without any kind of communication or update.Then he posts this sketch: [link]
That's great, I think to myself. The next few days it'll be finished? Fantastic! ...but this was August 15 of last year, it is now April 9 of 2012, and he's reopened commissions in January. I asked about this one, which is actually practically done (all she needs are her freckles. It's literally like an eight second finishing touch), he never got back to me. I waited a few weeks and asked again. Then a month. Then two months. He never got back to me.
M-Dison, if you're reading this, I just want to say this: You're a good artist, and I think somewhere in you you're a good person...but I'll never trust you again. And to anyone out there interested in commissioning M-Dison, don't. Not until he gets his act together, which may be never.

I bought one of those slots for his sketch drive, which he then got through some of the list of but then just.. ..stopped. (Claimed his tablet broke, I think.. but then claimed it got fixed, and we never saw him again.)
I got a note from him saying I was refunded, because somebody hounded him over it.

No, I just uploaded the WIP he sent me two to three years ago. It'd be nice to get my money back, maybe then I could eat for the month. Oh well, bygones. He's only hurting himself when pulling this kind of nonsense, because word spreads fast.

Yeah.. to be fair though, he was doing like 10-20 commishes for the price you paid him though man. He did like a $3 sketch drive so it was probably like pocket change for him.
Doesn't change the facts though, yeah.. He does good art but his portrayal of ethics is so skeevy that it's hard to really know what's going on with him. He only refunded the cash in the first place because the next person in line for the drive basically called him out as a con artist and might have written up like an Artist Beware on him until he set it right.

Ay, bit of a shame that. I honestly felt the pain resonate in my own wallet. Which I don't even have on me. No, I do not know how that works so don't ask.
But, at least it got partially done and I finally know Natsuki's hair and eye colours. Never woulda guessed white and yellow though. I always, for some reason, pictured her with auburn hair, like pure earthy soil, and turquoise blue eyes, like the sea on a bright summer's day. Go figure *Shrug*

You are not alone. I too tried to commission M-dison and eventually heard nothing even after sending the money.
Fortunately due to events I was able to get a refund on paypal, though that didn't even 'work' (not sure if paypal glitched out or he never sent the money) and was out (fortunately only) 10 dollars.

Aye. Screwed my buddy Karaken in the same manner, but I thought I'd give him the benefit of a doubt by waiting and reminding him every now and then instead of on a daily basis. I consider myself lucky that I got even this much by the horror stories he told me about the guy, but I'm still disappointed he didn't follow through and doesn't follow through with so many despite his talent and skill.

The sad part is he was literally almost done. I don't know what kind of issues he's having, if he's just forgetful or a genuine con artist...I hate to think ill of people, but he's giving me nothing else to go off of.
