EDIT 2: I've revamped the entire chart. I also added a "pre-teen" section to be the grey area between a young cub and an older "teen" since I've been getting so many comments on it.
For example, Kovu's a bit older in LG since he and Kiara met as "younger cubs", and his voice has changed from his cub voice to his more adult voice. This happens to Simba when in the jungle with Timon and Pumbaa too, at the same stage I've listed them as. His brother Nuka, however, is always one step ahead of what Kovu and Vitani are, and we all know how stinted his mane growth is anyways..so he was a bit tricky to place but I think I got it.
A lot of this mostly has to do with their size...with how tall they are at what stages, when it came to where I put LG characters. Kiara is taller next to Simba in LG than in SP. Same for Kion. I don't think a young cub would be given responsibly of Protecting the Pridelands. It would make more sense if he was at least a Pre-Teen.
And I didn't add Zira because visually in LG they kept her the same as SP, minus the head stripe they didn't add for whatever reason...

I've made some changes such as the BG so it's easier to read the character's names. Also, I found scans of a younger Mufasa and Sarabi from a book called "Friends in Need" so I've added her and changed the pic of younger Mufasa. While there was a younger Zazu as well, I'm keeping this strickly Lions, cuz they're my favorite
I've always wanted to see a chart of how the TLK characters aged progressively though the movies. So I got bored and made this.
There was actually more thinking involved that I'd expected when it came to characters like Simba and Nuka. Also, I added Mufasa and Scar/Taka's younger selves from the book A Tale of Two Brothers. I thought about adding "beanie Nuka" to the mix, but with it just being so off model, I said forget it.
Questions, concerns, did I miss someone? I only did characters that had more than one character design. I thought about adding characters like Zira and Sarabi, but they don't change throughout the movies, so that's why they're not added.
And please, don't use this without permission. But enjoy!

i think this is very clever, but erm i always thourght that mufasa, sarabi and scar/taka where at the older end of their adulthood.....

I've got some adjustments to make with Scar, but Mufasa died while simba was a cub, so he wasn't that old in his Adulthood I imagine. Sarabi's character design didn't change either.

Maybe Scar, but not Mufasa...he dies before he's that old.. but I didn't put Scar there because him and Mufasa are generally the same age, and his character design doesn't change from the time simba is born to an adult.

actually yes, the color on his nose goes from dark in the beggining of the movie, and lighter in the end, showing slightly more age.

Well, I think the pic you used form Scar in 'Adult' should be for 'Adult 2', since Scar was probably in the lion equivalent of his fifties there. For adult, I would have used some pic of the times when Simba was a cub. Yeah, I know they look the same *shakes fist at lazy animators*

I know. At a time I use to see a longer mane in Scar's late apparitions, but it was probably me trying to trick myself

Vitani is only shown as a young adult in the movie, since her brother Kovu only has a small mane during the movie, while her older brother Nuka is an adult cuz his mane grew all the way in, even if it is a crappy mane XD
So Vitani and Kovu are shown as young adults because they were younger than Nuka, who is an Adult at that time.

Since he looks slightly older in that book (his mane extends down his front a bit more and looks fuller over all) than he does in "A Tale of Two Brothers". o3o

The teen Scar and Mufasa pics look closer to the young adult Simba pic to me.
Vitani was a pretty club. How come most of the female lions don't have any hair? (don't say, Because only males have manes)

lol these are definitely screen shots and scans. I put Mufasa and Scar there because their manes still aren't as long as Simba and Kovu's as Young adults, and they look too young to be quite at "young adults" but they're definitely in the growing process. I figure realistically they're between teen and young adult.

Hmm... the aging thing really is more of a spectrum than different categories, isn't it?... maybe it'd work out a little better to make it more like a spectrum, like adding those two pics between the headers, and making the columns less defined. (isn't sure how to explain what I mean)

I know exactly what you mean, and I did think of that, but I went with the columns to make it more defined, like scenes from a movie- one minute they're a cub, the next they're a young adult, and there isn't always alot of transition between them.

You know, I did thought it was weird that Timon, Pumba, Zazu, and Rafiki have been from Simba's birth to Kiara's adulthood. But haven't aged a day. What, are every animal but lions immortal?
