Description
Another one by me. Dad was real weird about this. He kept butting in during homework time because he thought it would be a bonding experience. Instead he kept getting irrationally angry and overcomplicate things. He would spend hours - HOURS - making basic long division into trig, searching the basement for his college textbooks because "the teacher assigned something too hard". I would sit there trying not to cry until three in the morning some nights because he wouldn't let me finish my goddamn 3rd grade math homework.I said it before and I'll say it again - my parents were never meant to be parents.

My dad's a very weird guy. I'm pretty sure I inherited some of his mental issues, though I'm thankfully more functional than he is.

I suppose my parents attempt at 'help' is laughable. In my tweleve years of basic education, my parents each helped me once (11 and 14). They helped my brother's with everything and half the time did all the work for them.

Just a sentence? That sounds like something you'd do in class or before the end of class. We used to have to write a paragraph or more.

That's odd. Must have had a closeted teacher inside him just waiting to burst out, huh?

Well, at least he wasn't doing your homework - and doing it wrong - which is what I see a lot of on my end.

What the ever loving hell
I remember keeping my homework as far away from my parents as possible, mostly because I had seen my older brother not bother and get help from them a ton as a kid. I wanted to try and figure things out for myself.

My History and Geography teacher used to do that, on the exam, if a classmate was caugh cheating, he had to write on the exam "I didnt study, that's why I dont know a thing, and I was cheating"... if you only didnt know... "I dont know a thing, cuz I didnt study, and I didnt pay atention on the class"... and on the parents day, he would give that exam ( with the student writing) to the parent, yeah, many were screwed by him, but not me, I did study and payed atention cuz I liked his class, he was pretty funny and very open teacher.

If I was a kid in his class, I would have been so goddamn afraid of him.
The only thing he taught was that adults and authority figures are not out to help you - they will crush, humiliate, and spread your shame to all those with power over you, cementing how helpless you are and that obedience to networking, vengeful Gods is your only choice. They're only nice if you obey, and heaven help you if you cross them.
Christ, adults like him fucked up so many children's psyches.

O.o Did he never consider the possibility that you could pay attention and study but still get things wrong on the test...? Or did he only reserve this punishment for students who were really just goofing off in class or getting absolutely abysmal failing grades?

Ohh I see I wrote Exam, its a Test really.... that was in School... not college, everything he asked in the test, was in the book, and was direct question, an easy test tbh, for 5º Grade, its kinda a thing, that you cant fail (100% like know nothing, nothing nothing ). It was easy, I'm swear, he made it easy, and even so, people failed, just because they didnt even read the chapter, not even chapter, sub chapter, example WW2, How Start, why started, why its called the Great War, What is Nazism, What is Comunism, Who was Stalin, who was Hittler, who was Hirohito and Itaki Tojo, who was Mussulini, who was the axis and the Allies, those kind of pop questions, question - direct answer.
If you failed in that test, there was the exam, wich you had to write what you study, or What you know about WW2, and that's is a Higher level of dificult cuz then, you had to write a sinopsis of the entire chapter.

See, I would just call the homework line and ask what the homework actually was, on speaker phone.

I had a similar case that ended with my teacher just asking me to do what was asked not what I thought he wanted me to do for some sort of extra points. Truth was I didnt even like him, just was forced to do out the work because my mom warned me if I didnt do what she said she would make me do it and check my homework from then on.

Isn't summarizing a book in one sentence harder then giving a synopsis? At least for me cause it's like 'Yeah that's the gist but...THERE'S MORE THEY NEED TO KNOW!'

This is an exercise in unnecessary interference! Let's flip this around and pretend he was sane for a second. Even if you were lying about the complexity of your homework for no reason, the teacher would have assigned a poor grade accordingly. He didn't have to get involved at all, this is the kind of problem that resolves itself eventually!
It probably wouldn't have helped, but did you try telling your teacher that your father was a madman?

My dad was similar. it's not a nice experience. Then again, your dad is genuinely not right in his head. I mean, he doesn't remember that you live on a different continent most of the time.

That's what my dad thought was going on, yeah.
He's not sane, is what I'm saying. Shockingly stable for an insane person, I mean that he owns and runs a multi-million dollar company with several branches, but insane nonetheless.
He often forgets how old I am, that I have a fiance, what my name is, various things, but his management skills are pristine.
