Yeah... I remember reading it for the first time and immediately re-reading it.
The original story allows the reader to figure out what the rope and gold were all about. My version spells it out for you, which is good for a comic but I will admit that I enjoyed the dread of figuring it out for yourself that the original story provided.

It was just subtle enough to never push you away and yet creep you out without effort.

I much preferred Pale Luna and the NES Godzilla story. at least the latter had a ton of effort put into it and came with fascinating world building.

This history reminds me the first time years ago when a I friend showed me the creepypastas, then when you couldn't say if that things were something real or just invented histories, but used to give a really disturbed sensation, even the simpliest histories, even if the "bad thing" clearly couldn't hurt you.
It's a really great creepypasta, and the graphic way you show it is fantastic

Now that seems like a truly creepy video game creepy pasta. I've read my fair share of them and they seem to go with the "video game comes to life" route, so this is a great change of pace.
