I like how you got the blood on his clothes; doesn't look like you just painted the red on, but it actually follows the lines of the clothing. Something I've had a problem with doing.

I spent several years living in USA farm country. I saw a lot of blood and wounds on people there, including myself. Blood is heavy and, when it's coming from a wound under the clothes, it reacts very differently than if it were splattered on top. It causes the clothing to 'stick' and sag downwards.
It pools differently than water, too. Again, it's sticky. if it runs down a leg it will only touch the parts of the cloth that follow the run.

Rex is a badass alright, but he's naturally very sweet and cuddly. Just don't push him too hard or shoot him in the stomach.
Despite his gentle nature he violently slaughters around twenty people in self-defense by the end of the story. I love contrasts like that.
I like the idea of having a gay/bisexual male main character who doesn't fit the stereotype in the least. Quentin is very scruffy, vulgar, high in testosterone, and generally behaves like a curmudgeonly heterosexual. He just happens to care more about the personality of his partners than their gender. It's something he DOES, not something that he IS.
As for the Canadian part, he lives in Canada, was born in Mexico, and was raised in the US. He's basically just walked north from birth.

I like that concept as well, actually. I've had a couple characters begot of the same basic idea. Unfortunately the one bisexual character I'm currently working with is a very, very poor example of this. I don't know how or why, but he seems to just keep getting more flamboyant as time goes on
