Description
This is a story that I drew that is based on a dream that I had about 2 years ago. It was a lot of fun to draw! Below is the script:

The Last Stand of Darth Vader

Characters:

V= Darth Vader

O= Obi-wan Kenobi (in force-ghost form)

Y= Yoda (in force-ghost form)

A= Anakin Skywalker (in force-ghost form)

ST1= Stormtrooper 1

ST2= Stormtrooper 2

G= Greeter at the secret imperial base

AD= The Admiral at the secret base

Page 1 (1-2 panels)

    ·         Luke lighting Vader’s funeral pyre from the end of episode 6.

    ·         Should show the torch and the pyre with Luke standing in front of it in the forest.

CAP: THE SKYWALKER BLOODLINE IS STRONG WITH THE FORCE. ANAKIN HAD BROUGHT BALANCE AS FORETOLD, BUT AT A TERRIBLE COST TO THE JEDI ORDER. AFTER HIS FINAL BATTLE WITH LUKE ON THE SECOND DEATH STAR, ANAKIN SKYWALKER WAS RELEASED FROM THE TWISTED SHELL OF DARTH VADER AND BECAME ONE WITH THE LIVING FORCE.

    ·         Luke pensively watching the pyre burn. (medium long panel)

CAP: THE LAST REMANTS OF THE EMPIRE WOULD NOW HAVE TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES WITHOUT THEIR DARK LORD OR THEIR EMPEROR.

    ·         He turns to exit into the forest. (small panel)

CAP: HOWEVER, THE DARK SIDE’S APPETITES WILL NOT SO EASILY BE SATED.

    ·         The camera floats over the pyre (bird’s eye) and slowly rotates and focuses in on Vader’s eye. A faint blue glow builds inside. (3 panels of descending size. Full or ¾ body> focus on chest-up bust> Focus on eye.)

CAP: EVEN AFTER DEATH, THE HUNGER STIRS.

    ·         Dawn in the forest, but still very dark. (small panel)

CAP: DAYBREAK THE NEXT MORNING.

    ·         Distant view of the burned-out funeral pyre. The forest is misty and there is still a bit of heat and smoke coming off of the rubble. It’s pretty much just a pile of ashes now, with some sticks and logs poking out of it.

    ·         Back to bird’s eye view for this panel- this time over the ashes of the burned-out pyre. Vader lying among the ashes of the pyre, is partially obscured/covered by the smoldering debris. He might have rolled onto his side as the pyre burnt down. (medium long panel)

    ·         Camera closes in on Vader’s one remaining glove. It moves! (1 small panel)

    ·         He summons the force to lift himself up out of the ashes (maybe another close-up of the eye before or after this panel. Blue and bristling with energy) He is sort of like a marionette; limp and fluid. Unable to move on its own, yet controlled by an outside force. (Medium/Large panel)

    ·         The debris is falling away. There is a considerable amount of dust as the body stirs and any leftover heat is released. He is now standing upright. It’s daybreak, but still dark in the forest. There may be some light coming from embers in the ashes. A blue glow in the shape of a robed figure can be seen in the background. (large panel)

    ·         Anakin’s force-ghost appears. (Just a shot of Force-ghost Anakin’s face)

A- DO WE INTERVENE?

    ·         Next, Obi-wan appears to answer the question. He is stepping out of the forest as his ghost likes to do.

O- NOT YET. THE FORCE WILL GUIDE THE OUTCOME OF THIS SCENARIO. THE EVENTS THAT OCCUR HERE ARE ALREADY WRITTEN. WE ARE MERELY OBSERVERS TO WHAT IS ABOUT TO UNFOLD.

    ·         Anakin and Ben are standing together and looking at Vader who is standing in the ashes of the pyre. Yoda’s ghost is fading in in the background.

    ·         Camera closes in on Yoda’s face while he speaks.

Y-   COME SOON, OUR TIME WILL. REVEALED, WE WILL BE. ONLY THEN WILL OUR EXISTENCE BE KNOWN. ONLY THEN WILL WE BE CALLED UPON TO ACT.

    ·         The camera switches to a view behind the three ghosts as they watch Vader stumble into the forest. He is still very weak.

Y-   BLINDED IS HE, BY A HUNGER FOR THE DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE.

    ·         Switch to Obi-wan’s ghost.

O-   COME, WE HAVE MORE TO SEE ELSEWHERE.

    ·         Switch to an establishing shot of Vader’s shuttle. Could be like a standard imperial shuttle with two Stormtroopers standing guard outside of the entrance, but should be somewhat different because it’s Vader’s “Special” shuttle (Sith Shuttle or Darth Sidious’ Eta-class shuttle? Could be a Lambda-class shuttle with a new “DARK” paintjob). The shuttle is hidden in a very small clearing.

    ·         Switch to a shot from the front of Vader. He’s pretty messed up looking and still has a prominent wheeze from his broken respirator. He’s kind of bent over and weak looking. His hands are trying to remove his helmet.

V- WHEEEEEZE…. COUGH, COUGH… WHEEZE…

    ·         Vader stumbles out of the forest and is helping to support his self on the trees. The view is from the back of Vader. You can still see the shuttle in the background, but the Stormtroopers have not moved.

    ·         Now closer to the shuttle, Vader makes his way to the ramp of the shuttle. Camera is from the back of Vader. He struggles to walk and is very zombie-like. His suit is torn up and his cape/robes are stringy and waving in the breeze. He is entering a little spot of sunshine as he approaches the ramp. The Stormtroopers still have not moved. Vader’s arm is up because he is now reaching for the mask on his face.

    ·         A view from the side as Vader enters the shuttle. You can clearly see that he is gripping his mask and removing it as he walks. One of the Stormtrooper is in the extreme foreground. Neither has moved. They are hung on the horizon.

V- COUGH…WHEEEEZE…

    ·         Vader has gone inside, but the camera stays on the Stormtroopers outside. They are looking at each other and the one on the right is giving the “I don’t know…” gesture to the other one.

    ·         Camera closes in on Vader’s mask that he has discarded and thrown aside. Worms eye view of the mask in the foreground and the Stormtroopers going up the ramp to the shuttle in the background.

    ·         Now the force ghosts are standing and watching the shuttle prepare to take off. The ramp is closing and all characters outside the shuttle are now gone. Only the force ghosts and the shuttle remain. Anakin is in the center and looks a little in awe.

A- HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE OBI-WAN?

    ·         Camera shifts to Obi-wan for his response.

O- WHEN YOU FELL TO THE LURES OF THE DARK SIDE, YOUR PERSONA WAS SPLIT IN TWO AND DARTH VADER WAS BORN. THE PART OF YOU THAT IS ANAKIN HAS ALWAYS EXISTED, BUT IT HAS LAIN DORMANT INSIDE THE TWISTED SHELL OF DARTH VADER.

    ·         Now on Anakin and Obi-Wan talking. Anakin appears to be pensive and thoughtful, almost sad.

O- YOUR SON LUKE HAD SENSED THAT YOU WERE TRAPPED INSIDE, AND WHEN HE RELEASED YOU FROM YOUR COCCOON OF DARKNESS, THE BODY OF DARTH VADER WAS ALLOWED TO TAKE FORM. THE MIDICHLORIANS THAT GAVE YOU LIFE ARE NOW ANIMATING VADER’S DECAYING BODY.

    ·         Switch to Yoda sitting on a log in a classic Yoda pose.

Y- FUELED HE IS, BY ANGER AND HATRED.

    ·         Bird’s eye view of all of the force ghosts as the shuttle takes off. You could show part of the shuttle here, but it’s more like the camera is mounted on the shuttle and is pulling away. There could be some wind from the take-off, but the ghosts will not be affected by it.

Y- FEED ON THE LIVING HE MUST, OR ALL FOR HIM WILL FADE AWAY. A PUPPET OF THE DARK SIDE HE HAS TRULY BECOME.

    ·         A shot of the shuttle exiting the canopy of the trees and lowering its wings. (medium panel)

    ·         The shuttle is flying off into space. There could be a sound effect here.

    ·         Switch to Vader in his meditation chamber on board the shuttle. You can see his face with no mask or helmet. He looks very much like a zombie here, his “Sith eyes” are open and intense-looking.

    ·         Pan out to Vader as he’s sitting in the meditation chamber. His eyes are now closed as he begins his meditation. Could be a pretty wide pan and show his whole self in the chamber (ala-Empire Strikes Back)

V- THE HUNGER…

    ·         Another face shot of Vader as he opens his mouth really wide. His eyes are glowing and he has an electricity glowing around him.

    ·         Now a side shot of Vader leaning forward and sucking force energy in through his mouth.

V- I MUST FEED!!!

    ·         A shot of the interior of the cockpit of the shuttle. The stormtroopers inside are freaking out because their life force is literally being sucked out of them by Darth Vader’s force-sucking- Hoover-mouth.

ST1- WHAT THE…?!?!

ST2- HURRKK-K…!

    ·         A shot from behind Vader and you can see through to the cockpit as the energy trail moves from the stormtroopers through the ship into Vader’s mouth. Should be a lot of movement in this panel .

V- POWER!!!

    ·         A shot of the shuttle zooming through space. It’s got a pretty good energy crackle going on.

    ·         An aside from Yoda (same panel; inset or separate panel. He looks like he is thinking/meditating- Could be a caption box with his head on it or something.) Just let the viewer know that Yoda is the one saying this, but don’t make it look like the force-ghosts are flying next to the ship. They have a presence, but not necessarily a direct one. They are just observers here.

Y- CONSUMED BY THE DARK FORCE HE WAS, NOW HE MUST CONSUME OTHERS TO MAINTAIN HIS PRESENCE ON THIS PLANE.

    ·         (Large panel) Darth Vader triumphant- he is brimming with power from these two troopers he absorbed and he really enjoys his power. His appearance has changes a bit. He looks more like a season 1 WD zombie instead of a season 5 WD zombie.

V- UNLIMITED POWER!!!

    ·         Vader has grown a new hand- made completely of force energy.

    ·         Back to the inside where Vader reaches forward with his force hand and manipulates the force.

V- NOW TO RECLAIM WHAT IS MINE.

    ·         A shot of the main control panel- Vader is setting the course and manipulating the controls of the ship from the meditation chamber.

    ·         Ship flies away from the camera- probably in light speed fashion with the stars that have turned to bars, etc…

    ·         Establishing shot of a planet like Mustafar. We don’t need to name it because it could be any number of planets. The ship is on the approach in the middle ground.

    ·         The ship is zooming over the surface of the planet and the architecture is sort of like bone marrow or a natural sponge with lots of pores, arches, ledges, and slopes. Sort of bony-looking. You can see some Imperial ships and troops below. A sound effect from the ship whooshing past. (worms eye view or at least surface level looking up at the ship)

    ·         The ship lands. This area looks very much like the landing platform on Mustafar.

    ·         Vader walks down the ramp through the steam/smoke caused by the ship’s cooling systems. This shot is mostly his feet and legs.

    ·         Vader emerges in a pared-down version of his armor. He is wearing his helmet and a neck brace, but not the mask. No cape or respirator. He’s still pretty messed up from the fire. The force-ghosts can be seen materializing in the background. Some of the life energy that he absorbed from the two stormtroopers has worn off so he is looking more zombie-like again.

    ·         Close in on Anakin’s face.

A- I CAN FEEL THE END COMING. IT’S LIKE APPROACHING THE EDGE OF A WATERFALL. THINGS ARE SPEEDING UP NOW- THERE IS A QUICKNESS IN THE FORCE.

    ·         Vader walks past the ghosts into a long suspended walkway that looks like it is carved out of the spongy stuff that the planet is made from, but with a paved floor. It is open at the top and goes by some windows and open areas that are also made out of the spongy-rock-stuff. There are plenty of droids there, but no life forms for Vader to feed off of yet.

    ·         Vader is walking down the hallway and an alien is walking up to him from their post by a doorway. It looks like some kind of secretary or a greeter or something. They could even be holding a data pad or a clipboard, but no weapons. (Distance wide shot.) Vader is not very close yet.

    ·         The greeter is in front of Vader now. They are dwarfed by his size but do not appear to be scared of him.

V- I DEMAND TO SPEAK WITH THE ADMIRAL. I HAVE PLANS THAT ARE OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR THE REGROUPING OF THE IMPERIAL FLEET.

    ·         A shot down at the greeter from Vader’s point of view.

G- I’M SORRY SIR, THE ADMIRAL IS IN COUNSEL AND HAS ASKED NOT TO BE DISTURBED.

    ·         A shot of Vader as he begins to charge up his force power. His eyes are glowing, but his face is still in shadows.

    ·         A side shot of Vader and the greeter and Vader. Vader’s mouth is open and he is sucking the life out of the greeter. The greeter has gone limp, but is being held up by the energy vortex siphoning.

    ·         A shot of Vader as he absorbs the energy from the greeter. He looks exultant and stronger, but still zombie-like. The greeter only replaced a little bit of his power.

    ·         Vader walking away from the drained husk of the greeter who is at his feet. (worms-eye view, fish eye/forced perspective lens).

V- I BELIEVE HE WILL MAKE AN EXCEPTION IN MY CASE.

    ·         Vader motions for the door control. (small panel)

    ·         The door slides open and Vader strolls through.

    ·         He walks into an open hallway that is next to a seating/meeting room. The hallway itself leads to a seating area with a small bench. The top of the area and the hallway are open to the sunlight, and that creates a strong contrast for those that choose to be in the shadows. The other meeting area is just a hole in the wall with a pane of glass in front of it. There are imperial officers inside.

    ·         Vader sits on the bench and composes himself. He is sitting in the shadows, but there is a bit of reflected light coming up from the floor and any sunlight is in like a mosaic through the lattice of the overhead natural arches and spongules.

V- COUGH… COUGH…

    ·         A close-up on Vader’s face. His head is tilted down, but his eyes are looking up toward the window.

V- ADMIRAL… I HAVE ARRIVED

    ·         The admiral stops his conversation and looks out the window. He looks a little surprised, but not shocked or scared.

    ·         The admiral lowers his head and sighs. (view from behind the admiral) He is standing and supporting his weight with both hands resting on the console. He looks sort of vulture-like and his head is heavy.

AD- SIGH…

    ·         The admiral reaches toward a com-button that is in front of the window on the inside. The view is from Vader’s perspective.

AD- LORD VADER… I MUST SAY THAT YOUR PRESENCE HERE DOES COME AS A BIT OF A SHOCK. WE HAVE REPORTS THAT SAY YOU PERISHED IN THE DEATH STAR…?

    ·         Camera now on Vader again. He is ignoring the comment and continuing on his mission.

V- I HAVE COME TO LEAD YOUR FORCES AGAINST THE REBELS IN A FINAL STROKE THAT WILL-

    ·         Same panel, but the admiral cuts Vader off. He is quite annoyed at this point.

AD- LORD VADER…

    ·         Camera switches to the admiral from the outside of the room he is in. You can see Vader’s reflection in the glass.

AD- WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH ON OUR HANDS AT THE MOMENT WITHOUT YOU COMING HERE MAKING DEMANDS FOR TROOPS.

    ·         Now a closer look at the admiral from inside the room.

AD- THE EMPIRE DOESN’T HAVE TIME TO DEAL WITH A MAD ZEALOT WHO HAS DELUSIONS OF SUPREMACY.

    ·         The admiral is pushing a red button on the control panel that has a viewscreen next to it.

    ·         A view from behind the admiral at Vader. The admiral’s finger is on a red button. Next to the button or on the same panel is a small viewscreen with an image of an imperial controller or trooper.

AD- IT’S TIME WE CUT TIES LORD VADER. IF THE EMPIRE IS GOING TO SURVIVE WE WILL HAVE TO DO WITHOUT YOUR FANATICAL RELIGIOUS OBSESSIONS. I HAVE A SQUAD OF MEN COMING TO ESCORT YOU BACK TO YOUR SHIP.

    ·         Another shot of the admiral in the control room.

AD- PLEASE DON’T MAKE THIS MORE DIFFFICULT THAN IT HAS TO BE.

    ·         An identical shot but the screen has gone dark. Vader can see his reflection in it.

    ·         Vader is quite angry as the camera closes in on his eyes again. They are filling with power.

    ·         A wider shot of Vader as he stands. He is bristling with force-energy and can obviously feel it pulsing through his body.

V- HRRRR….

    ·         Vader releases the energy all around him in a shockwave of force power. Sound effects from the energy explosion.

V- …RAHHHH!!!

    ·         His energy spent, he falls to his knees near the bench he was just sitting on.

    ·         Closer on Vader’s face. He has a defeated look in his eyes. He’s basically on all fours except for the hand that’s holding him up.

V- YOU CAN COME OUT NOW OBI-WAN. I HAVE SENSED YOUR PRESENCE.

    ·         Shot of Vader on the floor and he’s looking back at Obi-wan’s force-ghost. (bird’s eye view)

O- DARTH VADER. INDEED THE CIRCLE IS COMPLETE. SOON YOU WILL MEET THE SAME FATE AS YOUR SITH MASTER.

V- IF YOU REFER TO SIDEOUS, HE WAS NEVER MY MASTER. MY MASTER HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE DARK SIDE.

    ·         Yoda appears.

Y- PUPPETS OF THE DARK SIDE, YOU BOTH WERE.

    ·         Shot of Vader, starting to compose himself a little, but still too weak to get up. The room where they are in is small, so they are a little squeezed in, but not quite on top of each other.

V- I GAVE MYSELF FULLY TO THE DARK SIDE AND THROUGH IT I GAINED MORE THAN YOU COULD POSSIBLY IMAGINE. THE JEDI HAVE ALWAYS BEEN UNWILLING WARRRIORS WHO HAVE CHOSEN WORDS OVER WEAPONS. ONE CANNOT HOPE TO WIN A WAR WITH EMPTY WISDOM.

    ·         Back to Yoda. He’s standing next to Obi-wan.

Y- THE DARK SIDE DESTROYS THE LIVING. CORRODES THE SOUL. NEVER WILL YOU BE AT PEACE, THOUGH YOUR BODY YEARNS TO JOIN WITH THE FORCE.

    ·         Vader adjusts himself and sits down on the floor. He is weak and is leaning back on the bench.

V- SPARE ME YOUR USELESS JEDI RHETORIC. FINISH THIS.

    ·         The three force-ghosts gather around Vader and focus their energies. This mostly just looks like they are meditating.

    ·         Close up on Anakin.

A- INDEED WE SHALL.

    ·         The force-ghosts are sucking the life that’s left out of Vader now. It looks like it hurts. His body is starting to shrivel up. (large panel)

    ·         Vader slumps to the floor.

    ·         The force-ghosts fade out. You can see stormtroopers in the background. They are finally responding to the call that the admiral made.

O- FAREWELL, OLD FRIEND.

    ·         Close-up on the floor with Vader’s remains. The only things left are the bones and Vader’s armor. You can see the feet of at least one of the stormtroopers among the remains. The main feature of this panel is the skull of Vader in his helmet on the floor.

    ·         Now closer to the shuttle, Vader makes his way to the ramp of the shuttle. Camera is from the back of Vader. He struggles to walk and is very zombie-like. His suit is torn up and his cape/robes are stringy and waving in the breeze. He is entering a little spot of sunshine as he approaches the ramp. The Stormtroopers still have not moved. Vader’s arm is up because he is now reaching for the mask on his face.

    ·         A view from the side as Vader enters the shuttle. You can clearly see that he is gripping his mask and removing it as he walks. One of the Stormtrooper is in the extreme foreground. Neither has moved. They are hung on the horizon.

V- COUGH…WHEEEEZE…

    ·         Vader has gone inside, but the camera stays on the Stormtroopers outside. They are looking at each other and the one on the right is giving the “I don’t know…” gesture to the other one.

    ·         Camera closes in on Vader’s mask that he has discarded and thrown aside. Worms eye view of the mask in the foreground and the Stormtroopers going up the ramp to the shuttle in the background.

    ·         Now the force ghosts are standing and watching the shuttle prepare to take off. The ramp is closing and all characters outside the shuttle are now gone. Only the force ghosts and the shuttle remain. Anakin is in the center and looks a little in awe.

A- HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE OBI-WAN?

    ·         Camera shifts to Obi-wan for his response.

O- WHEN YOU FELL TO THE LURES OF THE DARK SIDE, YOUR PERSONA WAS SPLIT IN TWO AND DARTH VADER WAS BORN. THE PART OF YOU THAT IS ANAKIN HAS ALWAYS EXISTED, BUT IT HAS LAIN DORMANT INSIDE THE TWISTED SHELL OF DARTH VADER.

    ·         Now on Anakin and Obi-Wan talking. Anakin appears to be pensive and thoughtful, almost sad.

O- YOUR SON LUKE HAD SENSED THAT YOU WERE TRAPPED INSIDE, AND WHEN HE RELEASED YOU FROM YOUR COCCOON OF DARKNESS, THE BODY OF DARTH VADER WAS ALLOWED TO TAKE FORM. THE MIDICHLORIANS THAT GAVE YOU LIFE ARE NOW ANIMATING VADER’S DECAYING BODY.

    ·         Switch to Yoda sitting on a log in a classic Yoda pose.

Y- FUELED HE IS, BY ANGER AND HATRED.

    ·         Bird’s eye view of all of the force ghosts as the shuttle takes off. You could show part of the shuttle here, but it’s more like the camera is mounted on the shuttle and is pulling away. There could be some wind from the take-off, but the ghosts will not be affected by it.

Y- FEED ON THE LIVING HE MUST, OR ALL FOR HIM WILL FADE AWAY. A PUPPET OF THE DARK SIDE HE HAS TRULY BECOME.

    ·         A shot of the shuttle exiting the canopy of the trees and lowering its wings. (medium panel)

    ·         The shuttle is flying off into space. There could be a sound effect here.

    ·         Switch to Vader in his meditation chamber on board the shuttle. You can see his face with no mask or helmet. He looks very much like a zombie here, his “Sith eyes” are open and intense-looking.

    ·         Pan out to Vader as he’s sitting in the meditation chamber. His eyes are now closed as he begins his meditation. Could be a pretty wide pan and show his whole self in the chamber (ala-Empire Strikes Back)

V- THE HUNGER…

    ·         Another face shot of Vader as he opens his mouth really wide. His eyes are glowing and he has an electricity glowing around him.

    ·         Now a side shot of Vader leaning forward and sucking force energy in through his mouth.

V- I MUST FEED!!!

    ·         A shot of the interior of the cockpit of the shuttle. The stormtroopers inside are freaking out because their life force is literally being sucked out of them by Darth Vader’s force-sucking- Hoover-mouth.

ST1- WHAT THE…?!?!

ST2- HURRKK-K…!

    ·         A shot from behind Vader and you can see through to the cockpit as the energy trail moves from the stormtroopers through the ship into Vader’s mouth. Should be a lot of movement in this panel .

V- POWER!!!

    ·         A shot of the shuttle zooming through space. It’s got a pretty good energy crackle going on.

    ·         An aside from Yoda (same panel; inset or separate panel. He looks like he is thinking/meditating- Could be a caption box with his head on it or something.) Just let the viewer know that Yoda is the one saying this, but don’t make it look like the force-ghosts are flying next to the ship. They have a presence, but not necessarily a direct one. They are just observers here.

Y- CONSUMED BY THE DARK FORCE HE WAS, NOW HE MUST CONSUME OTHERS TO MAINTAIN HIS PRESENCE ON THIS PLANE.

    ·         (Large panel) Darth Vader triumphant- he is brimming with power from these two troopers he absorbed and he really enjoys his power. His appearance has changes a bit. He looks more like a season 1 WD zombie instead of a season 5 WD zombie.

V- UNLIMITED POWER!!!

    ·         Vader has grown a new hand- made completely of force energy.

    ·         Back to the inside where Vader reaches forward with his force hand and manipulates the force.

V- NOW TO RECLAIM WHAT IS MINE.

    ·         A shot of the main control panel- Vader is setting the course and manipulating the controls of the ship from the meditation chamber.

    ·         Ship flies away from the camera- probably in light speed fashion with the stars that have turned to bars, etc…

    ·         Establishing shot of a planet like Mustafar. We don’t need to name it because it could be any number of planets. The ship is on the approach in the middle ground.

    ·         The ship is zooming over the surface of the planet and the architecture is sort of like bone marrow or a natural sponge with lots of pores, arches, ledges, and slopes. Sort of bony-looking. You can see some Imperial ships and troops below. A sound effect from the ship whooshing past. (worms eye view or at least surface level looking up at the ship)

    ·         The ship lands. This area looks very much like the landing platform on Mustafar.

    ·         Vader walks down the ramp through the steam/smoke caused by the ship’s cooling systems. This shot is mostly his feet and legs.

    ·         Vader emerges in a pared-down version of his armor. He is wearing his helmet and a neck brace, but not the mask. No cape or respirator. He’s still pretty messed up from the fire. The force-ghosts can be seen materializing in the background. Some of the life energy that he absorbed from the two stormtroopers has worn off so he is looking more zombie-like again.

    ·         Close in on Anakin’s face.

A- I CAN FEEL THE END COMING. IT’S LIKE APPROACHING THE EDGE OF A WATERFALL. THINGS ARE SPEEDING UP NOW- THERE IS A QUICKNESS IN THE FORCE.

    ·         Vader walks past the ghosts into a long suspended walkway that looks like it is carved out of the spongy stuff that the planet is made from, but with a paved floor. It is open at the top and goes by some windows and open areas that are also made out of the spongy-rock-stuff. There are plenty of droids there, but no life forms for Vader to feed off of yet.

    ·         Vader is walking down the hallway and an alien is walking up to him from their post by a doorway. It looks like some kind of secretary or a greeter or something. They could even be holding a data pad or a clipboard, but no weapons. (Distance wide shot.) Vader is not very close yet.

    ·         The greeter is in front of Vader now. They are dwarfed by his size but do not appear to be scared of him.

V- I DEMAND TO SPEAK WITH THE ADMIRAL. I HAVE PLANS THAT ARE OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR THE REGROUPING OF THE IMPERIAL FLEET.

    ·         A shot down at the greeter from Vader’s point of view.

G- I’M SORRY SIR, THE ADMIRAL IS IN COUNSEL AND HAS ASKED NOT TO BE DISTURBED.

    ·         A shot of Vader as he begins to charge up his force power. His eyes are glowing, but his face is still in shadows.

    ·         A side shot of Vader and the greeter and Vader. Vader’s mouth is open and he is sucking the life out of the greeter. The greeter has gone limp, but is being held up by the energy vortex siphoning.

    ·         A shot of Vader as he absorbs the energy from the greeter. He looks exultant and stronger, but still zombie-like. The greeter only replaced a little bit of his power.

    ·         Vader walking away from the drained husk of the greeter who is at his feet. (worms-eye view, fish eye/forced perspective lens).

V- I BELIEVE HE WILL MAKE AN EXCEPTION IN MY CASE.

    ·         Vader motions for the door control. (small panel)

    ·         The door slides open and Vader strolls through.

    ·         He walks into an open hallway that is next to a seating/meeting room. The hallway itself leads to a seating area with a small bench. The top of the area and the hallway are open to the sunlight, and that creates a strong contrast for those that choose to be in the shadows. The other meeting area is just a hole in the wall with a pane of glass in front of it. There are imperial officers inside.

    ·         Vader sits on the bench and composes himself. He is sitting in the shadows, but there is a bit of reflected light coming up from the floor and any sunlight is in like a mosaic through the lattice of the overhead natural arches and spongules.

V- COUGH… COUGH…

    ·         A close-up on Vader’s face. His head is tilted down, but his eyes are looking up toward the window.

V- ADMIRAL… I HAVE ARRIVED

    ·         The admiral stops his conversation and looks out the window. He looks a little surprised, but not shocked or scared.

    ·         The admiral lowers his head and sighs. (view from behind the admiral) He is standing and supporting his weight with both hands resting on the console. He looks sort of vulture-like and his head is heavy.

AD- SIGH…

    ·         The admiral reaches toward a com-button that is in front of the window on the inside. The view is from Vader’s perspective.

AD- LORD VADER… I MUST SAY THAT YOUR PRESENCE HERE DOES COME AS A BIT OF A SHOCK. WE HAVE REPORTS THAT SAY YOU PERISHED IN THE DEATH STAR…?

    ·         Camera now on Vader again. He is ignoring the comment and continuing on his mission.

V- I HAVE COME TO LEAD YOUR FORCES AGAINST THE REBELS IN A FINAL STROKE THAT WILL-

    ·         Same panel, but the admiral cuts Vader off. He is quite annoyed at this point.

AD- LORD VADER…

    ·         Camera switches to the admiral from the outside of the room he is in. You can see Vader’s reflection in the glass.

AD- WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH ON OUR HANDS AT THE MOMENT WITHOUT YOU COMING HERE MAKING DEMANDS FOR TROOPS.

    ·         Now a closer look at the admiral from inside the room.

AD- THE EMPIRE DOESN’T HAVE TIME TO DEAL WITH A MAD ZEALOT WHO HAS DELUSIONS OF SUPREMACY.

    ·         The admiral is pushing a red button on the control panel that has a viewscreen next to it.

    ·         A view from behind the admiral at Vader. The admiral’s finger is on a red button. Next to the button or on the same panel is a small viewscreen with an image of an imperial controller or trooper.

AD- IT’S TIME WE CUT TIES LORD VADER. IF THE EMPIRE IS GOING TO SURVIVE WE WILL HAVE TO DO WITHOUT YOUR FANATICAL RELIGIOUS OBSESSIONS. I HAVE A SQUAD OF MEN COMING TO ESCORT YOU BACK TO YOUR SHIP.

    ·         Another shot of the admiral in the control room.

AD- PLEASE DON’T MAKE THIS MORE DIFFFICULT THAN IT HAS TO BE.

    ·         An identical shot but the screen has gone dark. Vader can see his reflection in it.

    ·         Vader is quite angry as the camera closes in on his eyes again. They are filling with power.

    ·         A wider shot of Vader as he stands. He is bristling with force-energy and can obviously feel it pulsing through his body.

V- HRRRR….

    ·         Vader releases the energy all around him in a shockwave of force power. Sound effects from the energy explosion.

V- …RAHHHH!!!

    ·         His energy spent, he falls to his knees near the bench he was just sitting on.

    ·         Closer on Vader’s face. He has a defeated look in his eyes. He’s basically on all fours except for the hand that’s holding him up.

V- YOU CAN COME OUT NOW OBI-WAN. I HAVE SENSED YOUR PRESENCE.

    ·         Shot of Vader on the floor and he’s looking back at Obi-wan’s force-ghost. (bird’s eye view)

O- DARTH VADER. INDEED THE CIRCLE IS COMPLETE. SOON YOU WILL MEET THE SAME FATE AS YOUR SITH MASTER.

V- IF YOU REFER TO SIDEOUS, HE WAS NEVER MY MASTER. MY MASTER HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE DARK SIDE.

    ·         Yoda appears.

Y- PUPPETS OF THE DARK SIDE, YOU BOTH WERE.

    ·         Shot of Vader, starting to compose himself a little, but still too weak to get up. The room where they are in is small, so they are a little squeezed in, but not quite on top of each other.

V- I GAVE MYSELF FULLY TO THE DARK SIDE AND THROUGH IT I GAINED MORE THAN YOU COULD POSSIBLY IMAGINE. THE JEDI HAVE ALWAYS BEEN UNWILLING WARRRIORS WHO HAVE CHOSEN WORDS OVER WEAPONS. ONE CANNOT HOPE TO WIN A WAR WITH EMPTY WISDOM.

    ·         Back to Yoda. He’s standing next to Obi-wan.

Y- THE DARK SIDE DESTROYS THE LIVING. CORRODES THE SOUL. NEVER WILL YOU BE AT PEACE, THOUGH YOUR BODY YEARNS TO JOIN WITH THE FORCE.

    ·         Vader adjusts himself and sits down on the floor. He is weak and is leaning back on the bench.

V- SPARE ME YOUR USELESS JEDI RHETORIC. FINISH THIS.

    ·         The three force-ghosts gather around Vader and focus their energies. This mostly just looks like they are meditating.

    ·         Close up on Anakin.

A- INDEED WE SHALL.

    ·         The force-ghosts are sucking the life that’s left out of Vader now. It looks like it hurts. His body is starting to shrivel up. (large panel)

    ·         Vader slumps to the floor.

    ·         The force-ghosts fade out. You can see stormtroopers in the background. They are finally responding to the call that the admiral made.

O- FAREWELL, OLD FRIEND.

    ·         Close-up on the floor with Vader’s remains. The only things left are the bones and Vader’s armor. You can see the feet of at least one of the stormtroopers among the remains. The main feature of this panel is the skull of Vader in his helmet on the floor.
