Leonardo was perching on the edge of a roof watching the people scurry over the streets, leading their everyday life. He protected these people with his very life, not that he was complaining. He wasn't even doing it for them. Nor was he doing it for himself. He just didn't think monsters like them deserved to exist.

A scream rang in Leo's ears.  High pitched, and female it echoed through the air. It was a sound he was quite familiar with. The sound that he heard nightly, the sound that haunted his dreams. Snapping his head in the direction of the sound he took off. Hoping he could get there in time before another one was claimed dead. He found an alley and the scent of blood hit his nose, seeing no movement he deemed it safe to venture forth. Sliding down the fire escape he scanned his surroundings. Nothing. Hearing a small moan he spun around his cloak billowing behind him. He spotted a woman lying still behind him. He slowly walked over to the woman, he checked a for a pulse and a strong and fast one. Paralyzed. Probably vampire venom. He decided. Leo crouched down. He gently turned her head to the side so he could get a better look at her neck. There were two small marks, that marked where she was bitten. Weird. It left her alive.

Leo felt someone watching him, spinning around Leo caught sight of a glowing red eye watching him from the other side of the alley. Vampire. Wait, why only one eye? Leo thought as he took off after the one-eyed vampire. The vampire jumped up and scrambled up a fire escape. Leo without a second thought followed.

Getting to the top, Leo found himself on an empty rooftop, if not for the water tower in the middle of it. Leo unsheathed his Katana preparing for an attack. He couldn't see the vampire, but he could feel it's presence.

"You're the Vampire Hunter?" A voice asked, genuinely curious.

He wasn't expecting that voice to talk to him. He had suspected a deep and bone-chilling voice like any other vampire, not this seemingly humane voice. "Who are you?" Leonardo demanded, confused after hearing the non-monster voice.

"I'm just another vampire you're going to want to kill, why would it matter to you anyway ?"

Leo paused. You don't sound like a normal vampire. Leo wanted to say but decided against it. Instead, Leo growled and said," Show yourself."

The mystery vampire laughed and said, " That might not be so smart I might scare you."

" Right, no vampire will scare me."

   " Whatever you say Fearless."

Leo got into a fighting stance awaiting the vampire to show itself. He finally did. But as soon as the light hit the monster, Leo's eyes widen in shock, the figure was a turtle. His skin was darker then Leo's more of a emerald green. He wore a crimson mask that was sewn closed over his missing right eye, a ghastly scar ran across it. His remaining left eye burned a deep fiery red. He wore a maroon bandana and he sported a brown leather jacket that hung neatly from his shoulders like it was made specifically for him.

"What's the matter? Never seen your species mixed with your enemy?" He asked clearly amused with the situation.

Leo had not only never seen his species as a vampire, but he had never seen his species period. Other than his brothers. Leo's shock wore off as he reminded himself that the turtle in front of him was still a blood-sucking monster. A blood-sucking monster that had almost just killed a woman. With a growl, Leo charged at the red-clad vampire. The emerald turtle yelped in shock at the sudden attack and dodged to the side. Bearly missing a sword to the head. Leo surprised that the monster was able to dodge his killing blow, back-pedaled away from the other turtle. Leo charged again and clashed with his opponent. The two evenly matched turtles lept turned and twisted around each other in a deadly battle of skill. During his battle high, Leo was able to wonder why the vampire didn't have his fangs out attempting to bite his face off, But the thought was pushed to the back of his mind as the fight continued.

Unfortunately, for Leo, this monster wasn't like any vampire he'd fought before. He was easily a good fighter if not one of the best. And Leo was finding it kind of tough to get his blade through the other turtle's plastron. But they were both still standing, neither of them down for the count just yet.

The emerald turtle blocked another of Leo's attempts to strike his heart. Pushing him back the turtle scampered back a bit before spinning around and slicing the red-clad vampire's arm. The emerald turtle hissed and Leo saw his fangs began to emerge and Leo had to admit that he looked much scarier with the large canines in.

Leonardo attempted another attack but was blocked again as his opponent knocked one of his katanas from his hands. Using his other sword he managed to add another deep wound to the vampire's leg. The emerald turtle snarled before pushing hard on Leo's plastron causing the Vampire Hunter to fall back on his shell. The red-clad turtle fell on top of Leo, pinning him hard to the concrete and making it almost impossible for him to move. The two turtles glared at each, breathing heavily.

"Wow, plot twist. Vampire Hunter loses to Vampire. I bet you, no one saw that coming. Think about it I could kill you and be a hero."

Leo glared up at the cocky vampire, wishing his arms were free to stab right through the emerald turtle's chest.

The red-clad vampire ignored the glare and continued, "Fortunately for you. I'm not interested in what the other vampires think of me. Besides, you're to cute to eat."

"Oh, why don't you just kill me now." Leo spat angrily, not hearing all of what the other turtle was saying.

"Naw, I actually enjoyed myself tonight. You put up one hell of a fight. I haven't fought like that in years. Maybe we can do it again some other night."

"What do you mean by "again"? You're not going anywhere till my blade is in your chest and your head is at my feet." Leo snarled as he attempted to buck the vampire off.

The emerald turtle laughed at Leo and said, " it's like you forgot who is pinned under who."

The vampire grinned at Leo before slipping a piece of paper into the Vampire Hunter's cloak. "See ya around," and then the vampire was gone. Leo jumped up and watched the vampire that was already fading from view. When he could no longer see him anymore, Leo turned and reached into his cloak and pulled the paper out. His eyes scanned the paper and he laughed." Ha. Wow, isn't this ironic."
       The note read, Raphael.
