Description #1. Introduction

The young man walking down the road seemed to be a paradox.  He wasn't showing any outward signs of confidence, yet that was the impression most onlookers got of him.  His simple black shoes were caked in dust and dried mud, his jacket a similar color, though impeccably clean.  His hair was remarkably short, almost to the point of shaved.  His dark eyes looked into the distance, contemplating some unseen eternity ahead of him.  In his right hand he clutched an unadorned walking stick, but a rapier hanging conspicuously on his belt deterred any potential thieves.
The road he traveled on was made chiefly of dirt, though the recent thunderstorm had left much of it mud.  The man lifted his head and scrutinized the sunlight.  It would soon grow hot, he knew.  Unlike most people, his senses were much keener, almost supernatural.  He could predict next season's weather with nothing more than sunlight, smell thunderstorms a day away, see blizzards in the rings of the moon.  It was an unimpressive gift, but an incredibly helpful one for someone who did as much traveling as himself.
A shift in the wind caught his attention.  The faintest impression of flowers wafted to him on the eastbound breeze.  The reason he had been traveling for so long was near.  Without a moment's hesitation, he left the path and moved down the sloping meadow, following the path of the sinking sun.  With any luck, he would find he no longer needed to travel.  His search was almost over.

why do I have the suspicion you're writing about yourself again?

You could tell? Darn it. And what do you mean again? I don't think I've ever posted any of the stories where I appeared as a character on here.

no, but you told me about your being the antagonist in your latest one.

Oh, that's right, I did. Sometimes it's hard to remember who I've told, you know? But the main character of these themes is based pretty heavily upon myself.

I have trouble remembering a lot of things... but I randomly remembered stuff for my exam, that was helpful.

Yes, that's usually a good thing to remember. I need to get myself a planner since I have this problem where I only remember things I care about and homework doesn't fall under that category.

my problem with planners is that I don't remember what I wrote in it because I have it written down...

That sounds like the argument I used against getting one. But I think I'll remember it. If I write it, it's cemented in my memory.

Yeah, mostly people just call me crazy. Just because written words are my oxygen doesn't mean I'm crazy!
...right?

It's interesting. And I love your idea that literature is also art (I can't draw so writing, music and doodling crappy art figures in math class are my only creative outlets). You could definitely continue on with this story. I'd be interested. My guess is that the 100 themes challenge is 100 different stories but I could be wrong. I like it

I'm glad you're interested. It's always nice to meet a fellow writer. And I don't know if it's supposed to be 100 different stories or not, but I intend on continuing this story for as long as I can. Maybe by the time I'm done, I'll have another novel to work with

Hm. I guess you could do whatever you wanted with the challenge, lol. Good luck with having an idea for a novel. I'm sure with that start it will be amazing. DD.
