This short poem, is very luring to me.
It makes the obscure past, filled with despair and heartache, look hopeful that the mud of the past could construct into a foundation for our futures... that could carry other futures. I liked this one instantly, very much grabbed me. thank you for this.

I like the metaphor you used: "the ashes of the past." I like to think that it ties in to my belief that everyday in a persons life is like a lifetime in itself. That we die and resurrect ourselves each and everyday like a phoenix. To dance for the ashes would be toΒ morn and celebrate the day that has gone and to feel invigorated for the days ahead. Death is the final sleep before a resurrection into a new life.
