There are many misconceptions about kissing.

Things like “Where do the noses go?” or “How do you breathe?” maybe a “It’s like heaven.” and possibly “I heard symphonies.”

My nose is definitely not in the way. It is resting gently on the other side of his. All that was required was a slight tilt of the head and viola! We have lift off!

I am not dizzy or passed out in a dead faint so I assume I am breathing. Oh yeah! Of course I can still breathe! I have more than one orifice for breathing. Remember those noses we were talking about? Yeah, definitely breathing.

Heaven? Hmm…I’m not hearing any halleluiah chorus, no light, not even an angel. I got myself all ready to greet St. Peter and I don’t even see a ruffle of celestial feathers…how tragic.

I know symphonies. I practically lived in the orchestra pit for three years in high school...

Nope no symphony. Not even an off tune squeak from the string section.

Geeze. I guess I just tossed the kissing manual right out the window.

But despite the lies and the let down…I can’t say I’m disappointed.

I’m burning my romance novels the second I get home, because they weren’t even close to the real thing.

As our lips part and I look into his eyes, see that beautiful smile on his face…I could care less about feathers or violins or even breathing.

Just kiss me again.
