I think it's a cool concept to bring focus to the cutie mark. I get the feeling that you wanted her inside the tornado and that's awesome cause to me it feels like she knows that her power could be dangerous but she also wants to use it to protect her from what's outside. The only thing that I have against it is that I don't think the pose matches with the curve of the tornado. Try having her bottom have below her forelegs and maybe angling her head towards towards your signature. Hope this helps :3

Show off the white area more - from the thumbnail I thought the pony was an ant or something it's really hard to make out. Just distinguish her from the tornado and it'll be a lot more effective.
