I first watched Inspector Gadget in the original French version, then in English and later on in Portuguese.
Although the storylines were rather simple, I have fond memories of the show. It was a good cartoon.
There were funny scenes and the priceless "mission impossible" gag of him throwing the exploding message at the Commissionaire, who always showed up in the most unusual places. xD
Sophie/Penny's computer book was beyond cool and science-fiction to me at the time. I also loved Gadget's transformable car.

What I love about him today is the fact that when Mom was a kid, she loved Get Smart.
Now Don Adams was the voice for Inspector Gadget AND played Maxwell Smart so in a way he was a big part of both my Mom and my childhood

It came out in the 1980s. I was born in 1991 so in a way I watched reruns but regardless the indirect family bonding remained strong
