Links uncle is confirmed to still be alive and has "recovered"
Since "The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds". is a confirmed sequel to "A Link to the Past" and they both exist in the same universe pretty much, I have no idea why Links Uncle was NOT in A Link Between Worlds. A simple cameo would have been nice

That's one of my gripes with Zelda, some of the background characters seem interesting but we never see them expanded on or make a return aside from the main few.
Oracle of Ages had Ralph who seemed like he could be Link's equal but we never see him again.
